I don't think the club has the money to oust anyone, you can't win the comp on a shoelace budget...The way I see it is that we are a club trying very hard on limited funds and our best chance was a Wayne Bennett or a Craig Bellamy being able to pull sponsors as an earlier poster, I think lethal said hence covering their cost as well as being able to attract players at a cheaper cost. In the modern game sadly we are not playing on an even footing when it comes to the negotiating table when it comes to signing players with so many variables, incentives of rich clubs and TPA's.

I was a staunch Mary supporter, but I'm even starting to doubt him. Dugan playing Centre again has almost done it for me. We simply don't have the right halves and are not coached/drilled to create space for our centres. Sorry, but bad bad move Mary. Our team is painful to watch with the ball in hand.

..anytime 3 positions are affected by a centre being out, means we are in trouble with real depth and talent. He had Kurt Mann available who has played centre, but instead mucks up the whole team structure. God knows how hard that would be for the troops who seem to struggle with Mary's cut and paste game plan. Let alone try to adapt to wholesale changes ...
I've sent off a nasty email to the Dragons...after 4 years of this drifting as a Club I'm over this now.
Dragons Facebook page is in meltdown, which is there for all to see....I don't hold much hope for a miracle turning our season around...
Club had a golden chance to cut Mary following the DUI charge, so obviously the board must think we are doing ok and have the right coach on the job....that's the bigger worry...

Well said FlameThrower
And don't forget we cut Peter M a couple of weeks back
He would have taken that center spot with ease .
What move Dugan , why !?!

Agree, one of the worse moves made by Mary showing not enough respect for the Warriors side with that type of reshuffle. the thing I worry most about the team is we don't have bodies in motion and players are hitting the ball up on their own with no support in sight it's painful to watch especially when you see that the player has their hands free for half an hour with no support runners trailing, it's almost like they're conceding that nothing will happen on that play.

I guess Mary figured because there is no structure he wouldn't be disrupting it by moving half the team around to accommodate the moves... Add to that, he probably thought the Warriors would be a push over...

Agree Minh. Four forwards doing one off runs. Predictable and pedestrian. I know in some ways we don't have the top notch cattle, but surely we could do better. I have tried to defend him at times, but the turning point for me was the press conference. He looked totally in a daze, shell shocked.

Just watching a replay of the 20's on fox, it's amazing what our teams can do with a decent game plan and style of play!

Timing is everything. It's now time to bring in a new coaching staff and sign a couple of good players prior to June 30.

With suitable game plans, a new attacking structure and a couple of good players - Norman and a prop - we might even be able to save season 2016.

I agree but that is not going to happen.
You can write this season off along with 2012,2013,2014,2015!

The team has structure? since when.

Seriously though i too sent an email to the club as well but as usual it will probably just end up in the junk pile while Doust has his head in the sand or up his a#se:crazy:

As much as we would all wish for a new coach it won't happen. Saints wait till it becomes an absolute disaster before they react like they did Price.

It is funny how the lower grades can score points and the top grade is clueless in attack....

Do the lower grades go for 2 pts as well when they are on the attack and the opposition is vulnerable? Or is that just the NRL side? Sick of this 2-0 lead becoming 2-6 five minutes later. Warriors and Sharks have now done it. Embarrassing. It's scary when Saints first points are 2 because you expect the opposition to score in the next set.

mate i never forget the anzac day match where the Roosters were sticking it to us. we were absolutely awful, and then in the middle of the match they announced Price's contract extension.... classic stuff from the marketing team.. :?

Spotted this article (link below...at work so can't post article) on the Dragons website entitled 'Faifai Loa: Stop Overthinking Things' and admit to scoffing at the title because it doesn't look like we think at all from what I can see...and even if we did, overthinking things is not at the root of our problems.

However, I am not scoffing now. I think it is an interesting read and really shows how low our confidence levels are and what our mentality is.

I hope we can find something and bounce back, but this article makes me even more concerned.

certified disaster pretty well encapsulates our showing last Sunday in Auckland, especially given the comments and opinions expressed on this forum about the game.
