What is everybody's ideal superleague?! How many teams & which teams?! @Wb1234 @Perth Red @shadowformz
Realistically they don’t have money so they don’t have a lot of room to move

London Bradford are essential English clubs that need to come in

York and Newcastle are good potentially too

I’ve always dreamed of four French super league clubs ie Catalans toulose marseillle Lyon

And the wolfpack back in with ottowa

Id retain all the existing clubs including Salford

Wales is another place that’s been tried a lot and failed but that’s somewhere I would like to see

Carcassonne wanted to join league 1 in 2026. I'm not sure where's that's at. Lyon & Marseille are pretty much dead. Avignon & jaguars are nearby Marseille, but aren't powerhouses. League seems strongest ATM in Aude & Albi.

Did he want to own superleague or just be involved in not just challenge cup but league etc?!
Good question not sure which
Hearn is quick to point out that he is not interested in a full takeover but says the possibility of Matchroom promoting standalone events could be an option. “Things like Magic Weekend and the Challenge Cup, we can add value to those events by increasing TV revenue and commercial profiles,” he says. “We can grow those events, and there’s that side of it, too. But actually changing the game? That’s something everyone has to do together.”

I think when I looked awhile ago I could only find him saying he wanted to oversee entire sport.

Not a bad point by Beaumont. Though he isnt taking into account production and marketing costs. It’s be interesting to see a model where fta got two games a week to keep public interest growing and the other games on SL+ only. They could even move to a revenue sharing model with clubs to encourage clubs and fans to get on board. Say each club got a base amount of 1million pounds then a % of every subscriber belonging to that club.
you could certainly then see a way that SL would have the money to expand if anew club could come in and bring say 7,000+ SL+ subscribers with them. Nrl could support them by making nrl games available as well. Could even include the French league for added value In winter.

all up to make it worthwhile SL+ would need to attract around 170k subscribers @£15. A month

I'm sure the progressive & innovative English rugby league will be able to market their own platform in the current competitive climate for entertainment, just like they have for the for game..oh, wait..
