Squad for the Downer Nines

You only need to play one of your top five paid players. Theirs is T-Rex and ours would be Corey Norman.

It's joke of a competition after losing Edwards last year I've changed my views on the 9's, it's not required. If the NRL were smart they would introduce a preseason tournament which would substitute the trials. I can hack a player getting injured in a trial but the 9's is a waste of time. And the Bulldogs have got away with it big time with the team that they named.

Aren't you allowed to sign up retired players to play?
Couldn't we just send Luke Burt? Even if it's only say Faraimo he replaces, a season ending injury to one of your waterboys is better than any of your squad

Except Morgan

Would make more sense just to not enter a side at all.

Bulldogs have just named their 9's side, how they got this approved by the NRL is a joke!!

- Brad Abbey

- Tim Browne

- Dane Chisholm

- Greg Eastwood ©

- Adam Elliott

- Matt Frawley

- Danny Fualalo

- Craig Garvey

- Kerrod Holland

- Sam Kasiano

- Shaun Lane

- Jarrod McInally

- Pat O?Hanlon

- Tyrone Phillips

- Ruebenn Rennie

- Reimis Smith

- Chase Stanley

- Tony Williams

How do the NRL approve this team and make us play some of our top line players?Greenberg having his influence again. We are playing our 5/8 and the NRL's no.1 try scorer ..... Just to name a few whilst the dog put forward a Z grade side.

I'm not saying the top players aren't going to be playing hard but the flip side is that Nuffy No-Name is essentially playing for his career so he his more likely to try and impress by tackling hard and that increases the injury risk

A pre-season tournament won't make money but. How do you sell it to someone? Watch a game that you'll be watching for 30 rounds during the season but with lesser quality players. Not hugely interesting. At least with the 9's it is something different than watching the regular NRL season.

Players are just as likely to be injured in a pre-season tournament that they are in a 9's tournament, if not more likely as they'll be playing longer minutes and being tackled by more players.

I care more about the Nines than about trials or training - two places players could get injured that I don't even get entertainment from.

Trials are of very little value as well nowadays.

Just let the coaches work out what they need to include/find out and they can play them as easy/soft as they want.

An entertaining non-season is not a priority at all.

Kind of true..... 3 games in nines equates to 54 mins of football.....
Not even a full game in the NRL. With a lot less intensity . We however where unlucky last year with the whole thing.
Did we get salary cap compensation for KE who would of been in our top 25?

Why the f**k would we get salary cap compensation??? The reason you have a top 25 and a second tier cap is to cover for injuries.

What if he got injured in round one? How much compo should you get then?

Round One would be the actual comp. The reason for existence.

Why do you compare this to some BS TV content scheduled for the pre-season and involving our squad?

I enjoy the Nines. Plenty of people do. Isn't that the point of footy? Players can get injured anywhere.

The point of an NRL team is to win the premiership.

You want to be entertained by other things, then watch other things.
