The Stadium Trust are bullying us when it comes to food and beverage at the games. We are not allowed to bring outside fast food in, and expected to pay overs and put up with below standard service. Mind you, I have been attending games at the Stadium since '88 and it has never changed.

Nikki has the menu changed much since 88?

become more nutrional hopefully, organic chips and hot dogs

Yeah I was disappointed, got asked for tickets twice, I mean how the hell can I get a ticket out when Ive got 2 beers in my hand. :x

Food Im not fussed cause I havent bought anything there for a while. I usually either get something at Maccas or get a sausage on a roll near the Leagues club. Amazing how much the lines for that gets bigger.

They should also fix up the speakers at the stadium, half the time I didnt understand a friggin word Mark Warren was saying.

All in all, a fair indication of disatisfaction with regards to the general catering and quality of service at Parramatta Stadium.

There are two grounds in the NRL I have never been to. Dairy Farmers Stadium and Etihad Stadium (I've been to Olympic Park, so that covers Melbourne).
Without doubt, the worst catering and service by far is Parramatta Stadium.
Even the grounds that are stuck in the 70's........Leichhardt, Brookvale and Kogarah, have beter catering than Parra, and I've been to each of those grounds when they are full.

One of the priorities of the new management should be to drive a harder bargain of the stadium trust to improve this issue.
I queued up for 20 minutes at that little caravan at the back of the north hill to get food. I was only 7th in the queue. 15 minutes later, I was served. I ordered my food, paid, but still had to wait another 10 minutes outside the line for two buckets of chips. I went to the bar. There were 5 people behind the bar. One was pouring spirits from a can. One was pouring beers from just 1 tap. Two were collecting money. God knows what the 5th person was doing. I was 4th in the queue but it still took almost 10 minutes (8 to be precise 'cause I was keeping tabs) to get just two beers. The bar at the back of this double sided establishment wasn't open at the time. God knows why.

Add to that the expense and seriously, the stadium catering is a joke.

Furthermore, I heard this issue raised on talk back radio this week. A guy rang up who is a contractor to a stadium in Sydney......one of many (didn't say which one) and he basically said that he is making a squillion because all the different caterers for the different grounds pretty much get together and agree to provide the same service and promise not to undercut each others prices.

So there you have it.
An organised cartel.

When is someone (Gallop, the clubs etc.....) going to stand up to this sh*t and look after the fans for a change?

In numerous fan surveys this has been the number one negative that fans feel affects them attending games. Whilst Parra is obviously up there with the worst, we are far from being alone.

Having said that, in Rwanda cold, slow and expensive chips are a Godsend.

I bought two beers at Parra Stadium once many years ago. Never again... I learned my lesson.

So what ground do you think is the worst for catering and service?

As i said Parra is up there. From my experience, Ronson Field is equally as bad. In all fairness I havn't been since the ground uprade in 2008/9 i think it was. They were literally serving out of a 2 berth caravan.

I do believe that our bathrooms are one of the quickest though. Notice I didn't mention cleanliness?

Been going since 1986 and the food has always been rubbish.
Always have gone to Maccas down the road before/after the game, Always packed but great service.

Not a real big beer drinker so that doesnt really worry me.

The only other stadium I frequently visit throughout the season is Penrith. They have a members only bar on both sides... I cannot understand why Parramatta does not have one of these. Common sense in my opinion.

You know the first thing they said at 5:10 when the gates should be open was "Don't yell at me, it is the Stadium Trust that sets the rules, sorry"

The first thing i thought of was that Denis must be trying his hardest to make the new board look bad as ultimately the average fan would blame the Eels for anything that the Stadium Trust does!!

Then i get up the stairs and get asked for a ticket by a very rude lady! Then my friend came and she asked so he presented and the lady said "Gee, they've forgotten already" as if to say we should be used to this garbage!!!!! Then i watched her for about 20 minutes bitching and moaning when people questioned why they were being checked and again the line "Don't yell at me, it is the Stadium Trust that sets the rules, sorry" came out.....

I know it would be unpopular to move to Homebush but quite frankly i would love to know what the Stadium Trust actually think they are going to do if the PARRAMATTA EELS no longer use PARRAMATTA STADIUM in it's ageing and less and less appealing state!

Again, another board with bull$hit agenda's and self interest instead of what is actually logical.......

I would rather go to Homebush and teach those morons a lesson!

I never buy food at the stadium, its crap and expensive. I get food before or after.
I work in hospitality so I can understand (sort of) the prices that are set for food and drinks, hell I work for an international hotel and we charge $6.50 for an Extra Dry.

There isnt alot that can be done for the food prices that im aware of, but service is one thing that irks me to no end. I would send anyone staff member home on the spot if they were rude to guests, and I probably dont have the authority to (yet)

I also got asked for my ticket when going up the stairs. Kid asked me "can I see your tickets guys" and I firmly said to him, with out stopping "its alright I know where Im going". Dont smile, dont aknowledge them more then to send the message. Dont even let them know your upset, they wont challange you as they have no power what so ever, and if they are wrong (which if they challenged everyone who didnt show their ticket straight away, they would be wrong most of the time), they will get in more trouble for being undeservingly suspicious.

The 2 drink limit is an RSA thing, it depends on licencing aswell. The fine is massive and I can understand it too.

But it isnt hard for stadium catering staff to be polite and welcoming. Friggin smile, have a small chat to the guests and treat them as guests to your home. Oh and most importantly, know the product your serving. Bloody idiots!

interesting conspiracy ... wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of agenda, especially after the attempt to move the game

There was a new beer tent and gozleme hut at the back of the Cronin Stand. Good work in some areas, bad in others it seems ...

Yeah I went to that to get a couple of soft drinks. Was back in 3 minutes. It is were the coffee stand use to be last year, the coffee stand is still thre but there is beer and soft drinks and stuff.

I was going to get a Skim Hot Chocolate, but the a lady walked up to them and started complaining about thing swimming around in her Hot Chocolate and I thought I would give that a miss for the night and take a hit with the extra carbs in a soft drink.
