I have no problems with gambling, by the way. I have played poker and blackjack at friends' houses and the casino and had a good time.

I'm saying that card games, sports betting and anything whereby the outcome isn't 100% is gambling - that's the definition of the word. If you know something with 100% certainty, it isn't gambling; if you go on Millionaire Hot Seat, and the question is "What is the third letter in the alphabet?", and the options are:

A: A
B: B
C: C
D: D,

then that would not be a gamble.

But if the question was, "What is the third letter in the alphabet?"

A: C
B: E
C: P
D: A,

then you're gambling.

I'll put $10 on it that you are the biggest spastic to ever set foot out of Coffs and that is no small achievement.
It you are wagering money or material goods on event be it cricket, frog eating contests or poker you are gambling. Gambling is about wagering not what pursuit you are playing.

Do yourself and the world a favour and invest in a Dr Kevorkian kit.
When you spend money on a university degree what is that? Given you spend tens of thousands of dollars on an uncertain outcome. That sounds a lot like a wager.

If someone defines university as gambling then I have no problem with them defining poker as gambling because I understand that their definition of the word "gambling" is as loose as a Kings Cross street walker.

no cricket right now, but there's a match starting at5:30pm that should be an interesting contest, and one startinf at 7pm that probably won't be much of a contest at all

university you get exactly what you pay for, a seat in classes, student card etc, the degree is a reward for finishing it with passing grades. You're not gambling that money, you're paying for that seat

It's only an uncertain outcome if you're a complete and utter gimp like you.
I'm not going to answer you anymore because you must be trolling. It is not possible for anyone to be as thick and ignorant as you. Although having looked at your small mouthed long chinned spastic head then maybe I'm wrong.

Pfft. I'm bored of the poker talk. Explaining to people why you're right is tiring.

Armstrong on Oprah part 2 is on.

Vain repetition is the defining characteristic of internet arguments. It's the key reason I very, very rarely engage in them anymore.

No it isn't.

P.s. "Gambling", like most words, has several definitions. The most basic (from which the others derive) is any activity where money is wagered (risked) on the outcome of an uncertain event. Eelementary's definition is an extension on this basic meaning. BM's definition that restricts the meaning to only those circumstances where luck is the primary determinant of the outcome is a perfectly valid one, but is not the primary meaning and is quite unconventional (except among those poker players who wish to avoid the stigma of being labelled "gamblers".

As an amusing aside, BunniesMan would no doubt object to the title of this song:

Pfft. BunniesMan always wants to hold 'em, and has no clue when to walk away, and when to run.

He hides under the bed instead.
