T-Rex facing 7-10 week suspension

How exactly wasn't it intentional?

He intended to grab him under the ribs, he intended to lift him above his head, he intended to up end him and drive him into the ground.

The only thing unintentional was his early release which meant De Gois only came down on his head with his own body weight and not the full force of Williams' as well.

The only justice would be to have a Manly player hit with a similar tackle and see if Manly supporters claim that the suspension isn't fair.

It was intentional - if he hadn't lost grip of DeGois, Williams would have slammed him head first into the ground.

Luke O'Donnell's deliberate spear tackle on Boyd in origin only got 3 weeks.

A bit harsh and forces me to make more trades in Supercoach!

Williams already has an advantage over most other players in the comp where strength and
size are concerned, he doesn't need to be lifting guys like that to dominate them....5-7 weeks
is appropriate.

Williams is lucky that he is so strong .. a little less strength and he wouldn't have been able to actually rotate him as much as he did ... De Gois would have landed right on his head, he may well have broken his neck and his back. He could have even been killed in that incident .. I'm being serious.

Williams would not just be looking at a rugby league career over .. he could well have been going to jail as well. Injuries caused on the field are not immune to police prosecution.

Think you will find it tough to find one similar. We had the leagues largest and strongest men tackle one of the leagues smallest men 'one on one'.

Unfortunately for TREX he is too strong for his own good at times!

You might want to reread my post. I never suggested you'd find a similar tackle. Just said that the MRC/judiciary should ensure tough penalties for any tackle where the head is driven into the ground (which is just as dangerous as dropping someone on their head). But we know the only consitency in the MRC/judiciary is their consistent inconsistency.

Acted watching it again how the f**k was t he sent off.

Refs don't have the balls to use the sin bin or send off anymore.

I think send off's are saved for the intentional elbows and knees to the head, and the occasional stomp
or kick...sends off's from bad tackles usually depend on how injured the victim is.

LOL send off, dopey merkins.

He should take the early plea. I reckon he's got a good case for fighting it though.

What's going to work in his favour is that he picked him up and let go of him when driving him down. No doubt it was a dangerous position it's lucky for both players he didn't drive him into the turf with full trex force.

What exactly do players have to do to be sent off these days? When was the last time a player was sent off?
