I don’t think that’s actually a rule.

^^^^^^^

Now you know it is.

He said the NRL's "last man" in policy would cost the Storm Smith if the NRL is forced to take action to get the Storm compliant for 2019.

Who said? Ben f**king Dobbin? Lol.

There is nothing anywhere from the NRL about forcing out the last player who signed.

There’s quite a bit of contract law to get through before NRL mandates even matter. That said if all NRL contracts are pro forma then if the NRL did take the stance of denying registration of the last contract, it’s certainly not inconceivable

Why do these have to be anywhere. I’ve heard it on various sports programs some claiming it as fact and others doubting its existence. You might spend your time reading rumors on the internet, besides this place I don’t

There is one I found in 2 seconds, next time do your own research rather than going off half cocked

There are heaps of 'quotes' from journalists on this. Have you seen one from anybody at the NRL? Serious question.

I haven’t been following the salary cap issues of the sharks and storm. But is there info being leaked like it was when the eels had the cap issues?

Shit, I hate the bloke, but literally ANYTHING is better than Will Smith in the 9.

At fullback or five-eighth as a third or fourth string, sure, Smith is ok. He's a horrible hooker.
I don’t particularly like Farah as a bloke but he can kick, gives good service and adds experience into an otherwise inexperienced spine. Might also add some calm into the spine.

I also think I read somewhere that the Tigers could be in some salary cap trouble.

Edit: Found it. It was the Farah golden handshake that was the issue. This is making more sense. Am I right @emjaycee?

From everything I’ve heard if a club is over the cap and fails to resolve the issue themselves by round 1 cutoffs, the last registered player in the team will have their contract de-registered

If we can't get Luke, Farah for a season is a long way from the worst we could do.

Like I said, I hate the bloke and I'd struggle to support him, but hooker is dire at the moment and there's no doubt he's better than Smith.

In 2018 he only played 11 games in the back half of the year but had 4 TA, 5 LBAs, scored 1 try, forced 4 drop outs, made 8 offloads, averaged 42 tackles for a 93.2% tackle efficiency and 2.4 missed tackles per game. He also averaged 56 running metres.

Pretty bloody good.

But keep in mind its hard work finding any quotes from anyone in the NRL that clarifies pretty much anything

That's very true. But, if the NRL have registered a contract, I don't see how they can be specific about who leaves in order to get under the cap. It is obviously a lot clearer if a contract has been lodged but not registered.

The NRL cannot unilaterally void a contract that they have accepted.

All I've seen (that I can recall) is journalists' interpretation of the NRL position.

Would Farah come here? He’s 34/5 and been forced out once of the Tigers. Would they do it again? He has a good relationship with his current coach too. I’d say it’s either retire or tigers for Robbie.
