I was thinking about my previous post and as to whether I missed something or perhaps misunderstood coach and low and behold there actually was another possibility to consider.
Coach said that when we have Dufty, Widdop, Norman & Hunt (anyone remember the big 4 at Tigpies) are on the field at the one time it will be exciting to watch.
I thought why don't we actually start with them and have Mc Innes on the bench to replace Hunt as hooker because then we would get the excitement at the front end of the game rather than the back and that would save a lot of spine movement?
Then I remembered coach mentioned that, it would work best when the opposition forwards are tired so obviously they aren't tired at the beginning of the game, so how do we go about getting them tired to execute the plan? (Maybe send them a bootcamp brochure)
Well of course we have to win or at least be well on top in the 1st half to have any hope of doing that and bingo we have actually been on top both 1st half's played this year.
So far so good eh.
But of course the 1st thing we need to do when on top is put on Lats because no doubt he is a ramrod that will help tire out the opposition forwards even more. I mean the punishing runs he makes and the bulldozing defence he contributes is what opposition sides hate about our team.
Or perhaps this scenario is more apt
When our forwards get tired from the scintillating 1 out x 5 tackles attacking plan we execute maybe the opposition forwards will get even more tired from side stepping us, brushing us aside like flies and of course by scoring long range tries (very tiring indeed).
So how many points in front do the opposition have to be before we unleash the master plan?
The answer is it doesn't matter because 10 minutes left in the game is more than enough for us to weave the magic that is Mc Fookknuckle football.
Rest easy people all coming together nicely and the key components all embracing the plan.
