Team v. Brisbane

We did better than plenty of other teams will do in Brisbane this year. The only games we have a right to be pissed about were the Warriors and Titans. Of course that's a quarter of our games this year and we don't want that to continue. But even the Broncos got belted at home in round one.

First 20 of warriors game the rest was pretty good. Titans was disgraceful.

The whole first hour of the Titans game was good. They're a very strong team. A scandal doesn't make your roster weaker, and we were stupid for expecting to belt them.

But we shouldn't have shit ourselves the way we did at the end.

As much as it pains me to admit it Wayne Bennett out coached brad Arthur last night, the Broncos went in knowing that we would be up for playing exciting football given our past success at Suncorp, Wayne clearly instructed his troops to play high percentage football to be patient and let us implode which is what we did. Arthur did try and address this at halftime but the difference is the preparation that went on before the match began

This is the only game plan Bennet has been using for the past decade.

I was at ANZ for the Tigpies game. Gotta tell ya I was pretty pissed off that day as well.

Yep and 3 of those penalties resulted in 6 points, Falou drops the ball cold giving them 6 points and Milford scores a late a late try against the run of play for another 6 points.

That's 18 points they shouldn't have gotten.

The sad thing is that it is just what we do. We are always giving away points by being a dumb football team. We do not compete like other teams.

Last week when Burreta scored that try against the Knights it was the first time i have seen one of ours players actually want it more. We just don't compete like other teams.

We have plenty of skill and that is why we can score tries but if we actually competed and put our body on the line more we might win a few more games.

Most games we play like we are scared of the other team and the ball.......it is very frustrating.

That might have something to do with our recruitment under Brad Arthur's.

Say what you will about Mannah's captaincy (I questioned it in a thread before the start of this season), but this year he has been close to our best forward. I have not been a Mannah fan since he played origin but he has actually lead by example over the first two months, maybe not so much tonight, but the rest of the year he deserves credit where it is due. The sky seems to be falling around here.

He has been our most consistent forward in 2015 and is not the problem with our team. The biggest problem especially the last few weeks and this year is that we have been penalised into oblivion away from home and we only get penalties for obvious infringements. No excuses but discipline needs to be worked on as well as the fundamentals (Paulo's missed tackle, Folau's dropped ball), our two biggest downfalls. We were patient with the ball and were getting repeat sets which is what this team required, that's all well and good if you don't f**k things up the instant the opposition gets the ball.

I reckon Mannah has been "ok" this year but I certainly dont agree hes been close to our best forward.
Mau, Gower, Wicks, Terepo, Peats have been much better and if you ask Poo then Seffa is way out on front. Gower should be captain for mine.

That might have something to do with our recruitment under Brad Arthur's.

I completely understand why he has recruited Watmough and we just signed Scott.

Bird or Myles would be beneficial too, regardless of age!

The soft mentality has to go! People here whinge incessantly when we give away penalties yet want us to be hard asses. How are we supposed to be hard and not give away penalties?

Giving away penalties has not really been an issue for Souths, Manly, Melbourne or the Roosters on the way to premierships in the last 5 years.......intimidating the f**k out of your opponents with those smashing penalties is what has helped.

Our team try it and all we hear is whinging from everywhere that we gave away a penalty. We just need to learn to defend those penalties, Souths didn't win over night, they built themselves nicely to a premiership.

Me personally i like the style we started with to begin the season but we lost it and have gone back into our shell. I don't mind giving away penalties if they are the type of penalties that JWH and the like give away.

I think Paulo has been average like most of our forwards. Better than average have been Ma'u, Gower and Wicks. Below average have been De Gois and Moeroa.
