And what were they?

Suity

sorry..

financial concerns regarding the leagues club, pokie, smoking laws..blah! blah!

Edit: I should add that he's a little disolusioned at the fact that supporters/members (predominantly fans) don't use the facilities as much as he'd like.

Did anyone mention the auditorium and the lack of post match functions, and the fact the joint is more like a casino, than a place where people would like to socialise? Maybe then we might use it more.

we mentioned to the point that i began to feel quite sorry for the poor guy, getting bashed from pillar to post. but the main thing was, there was no future planning offered... just problems, no solutions

Sorry Jess. Am I reading you correctly? So, I'm now assuming that he got up there and defended the losses and all that stuff, and when asked were there any plans in place to address these issues, he had nothing???
And he's the Chairman ffs.

Stuff the sympathy (and I don't mean you personally), this is exactly the sort of sh*t that has got us into this state.

And his response? Don't tell me.......it scares the Asians away?? Am I warm?

Suity

no he understood where we were coming from completely... but i think he just hoped that people would use it anyway... kinda like donating money/time to a needy charity?

i know that the sympathy thing isn't productive, but i find it hard not to feel for a guy we've been friends with for so long :(

no he didn't, he kind of steered away from that and said that he realises understands our concerns and hopefully he can work through them with the current board...

he did raise the drop in revenue which happens on game days when we have some sort of after match function at the club

Ok then......what have they done to encourage anything other than a certain demographic to the club? (general question)

exactley - in my opinion (and experience) the general public is looking for places that they can sit around with friends and family, have a drink, a meal and a catch up.. Apart from the balcony at Sterlos, there's just no where welcoming enough to do that in the club!!
by not making an effort they are alienating a large portion of patrons, and by turning the place into a mini-Star City (which is NOT somewhere in the city i would choose to go to on a Sunday afternoon) they are taking the club so far away from what it was designed to be...

well up until then, not much at all....

hopefully, Ovo can go back to the board and still listening to the Heartland demographic supporters.

But he wonders why the league patrons don't support the club more?

Furthermore, he couldn't (or wouldn't) even hint at how the club might reverse the losses.

His non-election to the Football Club Board might just be telling him something.

Just like to add that at least he had the balls to turn up, even if it may have been slightly counter productive.
Johnson, Gerard, Hilditch????????
Not saying they should have or were obliged to, but the clocks ticking......

Don't know. Was Alan?

Suity

He posts here, and the invite was pretty much for people that post here.

The others dont and probably wouldnt have even known it was on if they werent told.

edit:

also, going back to the first post in this thread

parra future said:
If you want some other guys from the 3P and even some of the new directors to attend, first we would have to figure out what dates suit all of you, then I can see who is available to be in attendance.

I dont think we can really hold it against the existing directors if they dont go.
