Struggling for meters in the middle, but playing well. Far better team than last year. I think we will shock a lot of teams this year.

Disappointed that Aitken didn't get a start. Wouldn't have minded so much if Neilsen showed a bit of form. We are in trouble if this is the best he's got. IMO he is a log.

Frizzel, Rein, Marshall, Widdop and Nightingale looking good in first half.

Honourable mention to O'Brian , Nubuli and Marketo.

Our attack was not the best. My impression was that Warrington were never back 10m which gave the saints no room to move

Woeful in attack is a bit of a stretch. It was wet and greasy so it was hard to play any kind of expansive football. Granted, I know Warrington did, but that is a Superleague MO where as Aussie teams are a bit more conservative in attack when it is raining. ie. playing simple football and trying to force field position.

I thought Gorgeous George played really well in the second half, and Rein was solid for the 80 minutes.

As a game, it was awesome to watch. Few penalties, little wrestling shit, and plenty of ball movement despite the rain!
Our defense is still not that great, slipped into habits of sliding without moving forward. In dryer conditions it could have spelt danger.
Our attack looks improved, but still missing some depth there, hopefully gets a bit smoother as the season goes on. Doesnt help that our centres were pure ass, neither should be there rd1.
Halves looked flash, Benji especially looks dangerous but Widdop also looked good. Kicking game was amazing. Would like to see Dugan running some lines off them, not enough of it. Not sure how Dugan got MOM.

Forwards still an issue. I mean, Thompson and Friz are great to have on the edge, and Creagh is nessecary. I also liked Marketo. But the other guys are just adequate, and guys like O'Brien, Ah Mau, Rose, even JDB arent going to catapult us into the 8. Need something there.

And credit to him, Mitch Rein was good! Hit hard in defense, passing lifted, good scoots and best of all, NO DUMB DECISIONS. Well done.

All in all, good game...still think we are looking 8-11th at this stage, but will be a much more fun season!

Thought our 2 smallest forwards in Marketo and Rein were great & Rose showed plenty of guts!! Nielson is a log and not sure at all about Farrell....got to be better options.

Totally agree, I honestly think the 3 other centre options in Runciman, Aitken and Mata'Utai show more potential than the 2 that were chosen.

I hope this is rectified by round 1

Damn you lads are a harsh bunch of critics. considering the conditions, hostile environment, and being so early in the NRL season, I though it was a bloody good effort !
-3 and rain are hardly optimal conditions for expansive play.
I think you boys will surprise a few this year, unlike my tigers :)
