Hes on notice. For the first time in his tenure, hes truly on notice. The number 7 IS up for grabs if he doesnt play well. Despite what you have heard, since 2002 that spot has been his, no questions.

The reality is that Kimmorley has the respect of every single player in the squad. Hes injury free for the first time in 3 years. Hes been working in a 'coaching' role with Buster and B Green. The captaincy has been taken from him. He believes that this could be his best year in a long, long time.

Do I believe that? Maybe. But I havent written him off just yet.

newman comes through with some much needed goss.

Am I right in thinking that our "special teams" has been given a make over?
That our kicking game has finally been addressed?

Congrats to big eddie, he must be doing something right.

Newie thanks for your Oil.

I appreciate it.

But I for one just don't want another season of the same old same old same old.

If the man gets the #7 then every opposition coach, every opposition player, and every opposition supporter who we come up against will know a month in advance what our match plan is going to be and more importantly how we are going to act it out.

12 to 14 points a game 'ain't gonna win us nuffin'

Cheers

So what has Luke Douglas done wrong in the off season? I agree with lolesi that Williams isn't really a centre.....I have thought all along that Simmons would get first shot at the centre position.

So where is Luke Douglas?
Filiga would have to do real well in the trials to get a start I reckon.
Williams wont be in the centres. Simmons will be there as much as I hate it.
Peek would be in before Sua. Sticky is a big fan of Peek.
No offence Newman but I just cant see some of those positions happening

Dougie is there. Hes just not in THAT 17. Its a real tussle between Dougie, Sua, Selmes, Peek, Norrie, Ross and Steppa. You will see a change in the way our props play this year with the 10 interchange rule, what you see above is indicative of who is coping well with the changes to our style. We may even see a rotation system where a certain prop will play 80 mins or close to it and then get the next week off depending on the opposition.

That team is not what will take the field round 1. Nobody knows that yet. Its who is training well, soaking up the systems and is in my belief close to what is our best shot at playing Rickys 'winning' style.

Yes reef, the kicking is being address (thank god).

No Dougy is a suprise... even though it's not kick off yet. I thought he would be a given I guess this means and it's nice to see that finally no spot is safe.

Remember Rapers " I have to sack someone " fiasco... pfffft.

Thank Simmo's God for a real coach.

Nice work Newman. Good to finally read something team-related.
I'm with the others on Dougies omission - very strange. Though maybe it's a case of Sticky knows what he is capable of and wants to have a good look at the other contenders. Don't think I'd read too much into it.

Thanks, Newman. Looks OK to me. Once again I start the season with a smile on my dial. Wonder how long it'll take them to wipe it off this year. Hopefully never. :)
