Doogs for one more year is our best option. cannot overestimate how good he is going at the moment, and he will stay for match payments. defies belief we havent tied him up already.

What a massive turn around regarding macdougall. Just about everyone on here was bagging him out earlier this year saying he should retire, now people are saying he should be playing next year. I'm glad I never lost faith

I agree. I reckon it is Ben Smith. He was half way here last year before having a change of heart. GLad he did. No way do i want him. Sau is the most exciting centre prospect in the game right now and everyone knows it.

It's the same with majority of players though. It's when they are in form people want them to play on, when they are not people want them booted.

It's a tough gig thats for sure.

As for Mad Dog, I would give him one more year if he could deliver the recent form, however I feel he mighten be up for it. I overheard him talking after the Penrith game saying how that game killed him physically.

after reading the whole thread front to back, i must say that ben smith is the most likely of candidates... however the way the article is written does sort of suggest that there is a question mark on whether the knights have the ability - one way or another - to get the bloke to newcastle. to me that can only mean that: a) he's pricey or b) he's currently under contract and is seeking a release.

either of those options (or potentially both) open the gates a lot wider than the ben smith category. i don't even think ben smith is an established first grader anymore at parramatta? it's a teaser of an article... but reading between the lines again, if the deal does fall through we'll probably be keeping mad dog another year. not a terrible option by any stretch of the imagination... as when he's on fire, he's on fire... and you can also guarentee that some other centres will get a go over the course of the year as mad dog battles his flus, sprained wrists and other ailments.

why? How is any of them a better prospect then Sau, and they dont shine over MacDoogs or Wes in my opinon... We dont need to sign a centre anyway...
