The first two weeks have been awful, has it improved or should I simply hit the delete button on the remote.

I've seen some bad shows on TV, but this ranks right up with the worst.

The skits are as bad as I've ever seen. MJ's new clean approach to humour just isn't working.

Surely it will be gone before the Sharks get their next win?

100% agree with you. I think he is one of the best coaches out there but if he doesnt shut his mouth the refs will probably go harder on us.

I fell asleep during the footy show, but I noticed that in the Matty Johns show as well. It really was ordinary and takes away from the players who get booed and throroughly deserve it (Gallen and Ennis basically).

Didn't watch it this week. After reading this thread I'm glad I gave it a miss. Honestly, I wanted Matty (and RL) to be successful at 7 but this is one of the worst shows on TV.

Don Kirk and Alby Mangles. Half the audience would not have a clue who Alby Mangles was/is.
Matt Johns show is worst than Cougar Town and i am sure this show is just making the head honchos at nine glad they sacked him.

i enjoy the matty johns show but the segments are too f**king short. they really have the opportunity to expand the segments and get more continuity. it's all too rushed still and they need more than an hour

Webcke could not get a word in edge wise and Blocker was just dribbling.

Saw a bit for the first time last night.
Steve Roach showed that he is an idiot
Webcke is too smart to be on such a show
The "comedy" segments were unfunny

The show is rubbish. Matty Johns is a lot better at chipping in with a joke every now and again, but he can't carry the whole show.

The only good things about this show are Webcke and Brohman.

Seriously, if Matty had just stuck to a show talking about footy 90% of the time - albeit in a lighthearted manner - and aimed for something between the Sunday Roast and the Sunday Footy Show, he'd be onto a winner.

The humour is really contrived and low-brow. It just isn't that funny. I'd hate to see Matty get the axe so early, but this is the way the show is heading unless he makes some dramatic changes.

Same old story. Just because a footy player gets a few laughs at the pub after 10 schooners, some idiot reckons that translates to him carrying a TV show.

AFL Footy Show works because it's polished and the ffocus is o teh game with the odd bit of humour chucked in.

But, Matt Johns has Singo and every other 2 bit idiot telling him he's a comic genius. Problem is - he aint.

The Matty Johns' Show ratings are slipping. Getaway and the dance show on 10 beat it in Sydney last night.

It's still rating better than it's Melbourne equivalent though.

TFS's ratings were really poor in Sydney.

I had to laugh at the ad breaks tonight. A Swans commercial or two at every break. What about the promotion for a Channel 7 show with the young bloke wearing a Centenary Kangaroos Rugby League jersey.
“One day he dreams of playing for the Wallabies”.
Seemed to be a lot of cross promotion for Union and AFL.

Off topic but these things happen I think because marketing people do not have real world knowledge of the thing they are trying to promote.

What 'Marketing' people do not understand is that people notice attention to detail and it matters more in a decission about a product than any flashy advertising.

During the Centenary the NRL managed to release a footy card of North Sydney's most famous son Ken Irvine in a Manly jersey. Even Manly people I talked to thought this was 'not right'.

The Bears 60's retro jersey that Classic has released erroneously features the 1970s Bear emblem.

But this is what can happen when marketing reduces things to a commercial equation and details fall by the wayside.
