Noddy said it. It was disgusting that they showed up with no enthusiasm.

Decent sides bounce back from humiliating losses, not run out looking like they don't want to be there.

As to how well they did on the penalties, that is Kindergarten stuff. If they need to lose a game becasue they are too busy not giving away penalties they don't deserve to be in First Grade.

And for me the most disappointing part wasn't how they defended, which is when they are most likely to get penalised, it was their absolutely pedestrian attack. And don't give me that stuff about how little possesion they had, an arguement you refused to accept as reasonable any time in the last 2 years as I remember, because it started from the first set. And who was it who let NQ get all that extra ball? It wasn't through penalties.

Whichever way you look at it it was an appaling display against an average team. If we want to keep any credibility things have to change and quickly.

PJ,
I certainly wouldn't call NQ an average team. Have a look at their playing roster!

Penrith, Parra, Broncos and the Dogs ahve kept a pretty similar side on the paddock each week. We have not. Give us our full team and see how we go. Hell even Manly and Souths haven't had too many changes. Look at the Gus's Goosters and see what happens when their big names are missing.

I'm hangin in there but only just

Who else have they beaten?

Who was the overwhelming favourite? I think the bookies had them at something like $3 for the win which is pretty big in a 2 horse race.

Mate I'll be there every week, except for when I'm OS, but unless there is a drastic improvement it is going to be a very, very long year. And I don't believe the club is in a good enough position to endure a year like the one we are staring down the barrel of.

I was particularly concerned with Noddy in today's paper saying how the training they are doing just isn't up to it. If that is the case we are giving all the other sides a massive head start. It also ties in with Blackies assesment, which I agree with, that they don't look as fit as other teams.

Gallen,Lomu,Stevens,Beattie(for all but a few minutes),Bird,Merrit, not to mention any PL players were missing.
6 first choice guys out of 17 didnt help matters.
Did I miss anyone?

It's not so much that we lost that upset me Foz, and all those players missing certainly didn't help, but we had 2 current internationals, a SOO rep, a fullback who should have played a heap of SOO games, and played without any real enthusiasm or drive. COuldn't even crack their line.

Remember last year when we had players out and Newtown came up against Webcke and Civonaceva? He played with the passion and intensity that was missing and took the game too them.

I've walked away from Shark Park plenty of times feeling OK after a defeat. If they aren't good enough but tried I can at least live with that. It wasn't the feeling I had on Saturday.

I felt OK until about 20 minutes from the end - at least I had fun abusing the ref - but they seemed to just totally give up - no fighting for the game - as soon as something goes wrong the heads go down.

Spot on PJ. (I was just commenting on the title of the thread).
We should have played a heap better (as you say we still had talent out there) but you take 6 starters out of any side and you are in a spot of bother.
I'd never back against the Sharks but I can say I didnt back them this week because they were a shocking price.
I commented in one of the other threads how I felt on Saturday night.
Its not in good taste for me to repeat it.

Franze still struggling for fitness and confidence.

Was in the NRL trailer at the easter Show yesterday and saw an old try of Franze's that was absolutely awesome - if he gets back to fitness and his old form would be good to see
