so ...

need to cheer on:

1. Titans
2. Melbourne .... ewwwwww, makes me shudder

last resort ... Penrith

and get our fingers out next week ... i reckon we can if 1 & 2 go our way

I'm not hoping for anything, we don't deserve to get in the 8 by hope with the way we played today.

Had we put in the effort and lost in a good game then I would be hoping but after that today, I just can't hope for miracles for them.

I still can't see Storm losing at home to Broncos next week, or Penrith losing at home to Warriors next week - especially if both of the hosts have lost their round 25 games.

So provided we win against Canberra we should end up scraping in 8th... but if either of those results doesn't go our way we miss out.

We'll know about Storm v Broncos the night before our game, and if we're still alive and win then we'll have to wait another day to cheer on the Panthers over the Warriors. (Just like Bandwagon said above.)

If Storm beat Broncos on Friday night, you can put money on us choking against the Raiders on the Saturday.

We will not make the Top 8.

you can put money on us choking any time we are favourites
we turn up when we are underdogs but as soon as we are expected to win we collapse :(

No one has mentioned the cowboys, highly unlikely but if they choke against by the sharks they have manly in the last round.

Storm will beat broncos, but Penrith/warriors could go either way.

Why is it negative, it's fact! Why pray for results to go our way when it was as simple as turning up to play yesterday (didn't even have to win, just compete) and instead of putting in a good performance they pulled a Stuart/SK performance instead!

I'm happy with the year and 12 wins is about 4 more than I expected, so it has been a positive year but don't expect me to be happy with what I saw yesterday from a team that looked uninterested in such an important game for the club they are apparently passionate to represent!!!

Did you see the press conference? The coach was f**king fuming, I hope he took it out on those players because they need to hear some home truths!

I can't understand why anyone thought we were favorites to beat Newcastle away when we couldn't even beat them at Parramatta.

There have been a couple of games this year that the poor performance have cost us a finals spot

Newcastle at Parramatta (At home against a team struggling we should have lapped them)
Bulldogs at ANZ (had 35 minutes to score a winner but played a negative style)

If we won those two we would be on 32 points and definitely in the 8.

Maybe if it was in Cronulla I could see contemplate an upset in discussions, but I cannot see the Sharks coming close to the Cowboys in Townsville.

The Cowboys are alot better than that.

Perhaps your wishful thinking would be better directed at Parra, who continue to under perform when the pressure is on.

You could argue that other teams have also lost games they shouldn't. If the Broncos had beaten Cronulla, instead of giving away a 20 odd point lead, then we wouldn't be even talking about a chance at the finals. The Broncos were also unlucky to be beaten in the end by the Panthers the week later. Probably should've at least got to Golden Point there.

We're lucky other teams have lost games that they should've won, which has kept us in with a chance of the finals.

For me it's more those games against Manly and the Tigers which were basically lost on goal-kicking (and poor refereeing).
We only had to defend one tackle against Manly and we would have won. Instead we let in a try on the bell.
We were easily the better team against the Tigers, but a couple of very poor passes handed them tries.

Those are the games we should have won but have now come back to haunt us.

There aint too many seasons where 12 wins hasn't resulted in a top eight finish, you have to go back to '99 before you find a team miss out on 13.

The dissapointing for me was not the fact we lost yesterday. .we got destroyed by a team with nothing to play for. They're forwards killed ours with their offloads and we should not have lost a game 42-12 after leading 12-8 half time.

The Knights were playing in front of their home fans and are trying to get as far up the ladder as they can to finish the year on a high. They don't want to be embarrassed.
They had plenty to play for.
