If we do get Poore, would that see the Eels shut up shop for next season and maybe focus on retaining a few younger guys? Or do we have something left for some other lower key signings?

that would be the plan...

I think the general idea would be to decided on blokes like Tautai, Lowrie and Gulavao and some players of the same ilk and quality outside the club.

My mate, who's a rabid Hawks fan, said we're signing Lance "Buddy" Franklin on a 2 year deal. He wants to play fullback for the Eels. Expect it in the news tonight.

Thankgod for that:D Tried to make me out to be another jerkoff shooting his mouth off.

Now I can move to part 2, the same bloke told me yesterday aswell that Poore is a done deal, but it will take a bit longer to nut out.

someone is looking like a prize dick .... and its not SDM

thats the talk...altho i can see him being signed more as lock than a centre but his versatility is another strong point

Hope he goes to the Panthers if it's as a forward...

He's a bit soft defensively for such a big guy! Completes tackles, but doesn't look to bring any sting.

I still think he's a good center!

awesome news about shacks

i can see that DA can see where our problems are. this is a rebuilding year for us and it is evident in the amount of younger players we are giving a go to. The development of players like Mannah, Latimore, mortimier and kingston are essential for next season. i'd love to see Horo get his shot later in the year, once latimore gets some more experience.

Noticed that reports this morning called him " promising Roosters forward Shane Shackleton "...

Is it possible that a bloke who'll turn 27 in his first year of the Eels contract is ' promising ' ?

Shane Shackleton signs with Parramatta Eels

PARRAMATTA have signed Roosters forward Shane Shackleton to three-year deal.
Shackleton is the first of several players Parramatta have been negotiating with in a large recruitment drive by the Eels.
The promising City representative will play out the season with the Roosters.
Eels coach Daniel Anderson said he was delighted to land the versatile second-rower.
"We're obviously very happy to have Shane on board for 2010 and beyond," Anderson said in a statement.
"He broke through for his first representative jumper this year and he'll certainly add some versatility and variety to our pack.
"What's more we feel we've got a quality person, not just a quality player."
The 26-year-old has played 53 games for the Roosters since making his first-grade debut against Brisbane in round 25, 2005.
Acting Eels chief executive Andrew Hill said the signing of Shackleton is a vote of confidence in the team and the club as well as the direction in which both are heading.
"We're looking forward to Shane strengthening our team on and off the paddock," Hill said.
"It's important for the club to be able to attract players of Shane's calibre. We also look forward to continuing negotiations with other players for season 2010."
