I look at the progress/changes the Bulldogs have gone under Hasler three weeks into his reign.
I look at the lack of progress/changes we have gone under Kearney one year and three weeks into his reign.

Why could that not be us?

Hasler took over the Bulldogs because there wasn't much work to be done there. Same reason Bennett took over the Knights.

Why do you think Bennett wanted nothing to do with Souths? If he really wanted a challenge he would have gone there instead.

These blokes ain't silly, and they don't need to go to shit clubs. That's what rookie coaches are for, because they're the ones with nothing to lose.

That all depends. If he's putting the right structures in place and all you need is a better motivator/game tactician then why do you need to axe the coach so soon?

why is it too soon?

when isn't it too soon in your book?

I reckon if you're not going to keep him past the end of his contract you may as well sack him with a year to go. He's hardly going to care about the club's future when he knows he won't be around in a year's time.

I read a stat the other day that around 65% of player debuting in the NRL have come through playing in the NYC. Over the last few years apart from a player here and there who would anyone pick in Parras team to play in the NRL. When you look at other teams like the Broncos who are successful on yearly basis their NYC teams always have been some what competitive specially the year they made the gf where the lifes of Hoffman, Yow Yeh, Beale, Glen, Hunt, McGuire and Gillett all played through out that year.

Where else are they going to come from?

We've got a good NYC team now. They were our very successful sg ball side before Kearney arrived. I suppose he is waiting for a few of them to move through to the top grade and then we can all hail his structures and academy a marvellous success.

well if he is a complete dud then not sacking him will cost us more in the long run

I didnt say that I dont think he should be sacked. What I said was that I think with this $450k clause that they wont sack him. I think if at the end of the season we have run anywhere in the bottom 4 that plans will be made to move on from Kearney in 2014 and that will be announced very early on in 2013....

Don't hear much about that comp living up here, but has Parramattas SG ball side being one of the contenders for years?

So you highlight just one sentence with a stat and not the context how it was used. One of your best

My point is the juniors have to come from somewhere and that is the Toyota Cup. Before the Toyota Cup they came from Jersey Flegg, well for NSW teams at least. Regardless these days where you need to be a lot bigger to play in the NRL than you did in the past, and a lot of players don't even hit first grade until 22 or 23. The Warriors have dominated NYC the past couple of years because their players have skill AND size. Results in actual NYC games and the competition aren't a true indication of whether all those players will go on to have good first grade careers.

I think SK lacks in leadership skills, and it is showing in our performances.

What frustrates me is that it's not just individual performances, it's the fact we don't play as a team. The players don't seem to have any confidence in each other's abilities and cannot read their team-mates plays. That's something the coach has to address. Hasler in one off season has got the Bulldogs playing as a team and they're getting the results from it.

If we keep them then the acedemy will have been a success.

In previous years all our best juniors ended up at Manly.
