10. Operator Please - Yes Yes Vindictive - Ignore the stupid Ping Pong song and this is actually a pretty good album. Great vocals, good song structure (awful lyrics). Once these guys mature, they'll be fantastic.
9. The Hives - The Black and White Album - A band that does not know how to disappoint. Consistently consistent.
8. Ween - La Cucaracha - These guys are brilliant. Nuff said really.
7. Hilltop Hoods - The Hard Road: Restrung - Maybe cheating a bit here, a re-release of a 2006 album but nonetheless, the orchestra really add something special to what was an already great album.
6. Tim Rogers - The Luxury of Hysteria - A man of many talents, and clearly Australia's best singer/songwriter. Forget Missy Higgins and other pretenders, this man still holds the mantle as this album proves.
5. Grinspoon - Alibis & Other Lies - I thought Grinspoon were dead. Finished. Phil was in rehab, they'd released a greatest hits album... but then this landed. They're back baby!
4. Tim Armstrong - A Poet's Life - Without doubt, one of the best songwriters around today. A masterpiece.
3. Kisschasy - Hymns for the Non-Believer - A band that have been paying their dues for years now on the live music scene, they're finally starting to get the recognition that they deserve. Brilliant album.
2. Reel Big Fish - Monkeys For Nothing and the Chimps For Free - Just a great party album, and a welcome return to form after the dismal We're Not Happy Till You're Not Happy of 2005.
1. Dropkick Murphys - The Meanest of Times - Wow. Just when you think the Murphys have lost their touch, they blast you with this tour de force. A seminal album, one that should most definately receive more exposure than it does. Do not miss this, regardless of your tastes.
