I have much higher expectations from 2008.

By far my most anticipated release will be Immortal's new one, as well as the new Opeth opus.

But also keen to hear:

Iced Earth
Kataklysm
Meshuggah
Children of Bodom

Metallica too, although that could very well turn out to be a pile of turd.

These guys never disappoint me.

I thought In Rainbows was better than everything from Kid A onwards but still not a patch on The Bends and OK Computer IMO.

When i first heard In Rainbows i wasn't that impressed but the more i listened the more i heard everything that is going on and it got better and better..

Love it now.. Not up there with Ok Computer though..

I haven't really bought many "new" albums this year... the only ones would be:

Dream Days At The Hotel Existence - Powderfinger
Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace - Foo Fighters
I'll Be Lightning - Liam Finn
Sawdust - The Killers

Got bored with "Dream Days..." very quickly. It'll be more than likely be the last Powderfinger album I ever get.
"Echoes, Silence..." one is OK, not a patch on Colour and the Shape, but still worthy of a listen occasionally.
I've only listened to "I'll Be Lightning" once (only got it a few days ago), but I like what I hear. The Finn pedigree is definitely alive and bright in Liam.
"Sawdust" was on very high rotation when I first got it - loved it!

I interviewed the guitarist from Drowning Pool the other day too - still think their debut album was their best though. The new one is okay but haven't listened to it enough yet to form a genuine opinion.

It's amazing that P returned to form (prior to incarceration, of course), I thought dood was like permanently geniused or something. Mac 10 Handle is such a hott song.
