Haha jeez, goal.com is so full of shit sometimes.
They use some pretty strong words in the article/headline so I assumed it was true, unlike their other stories where 'source close to the player says .......'

Boateng's in the bag..According to Robben's Facebook anyway.

With sources like that I could write for the Daily Mirror..

As good as Sneijder is, I don't really see a new CM/CAM as a priority for the Mancs. Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Gibson and Giggs' cameo appearances will be good enough for them to be title contenders once again. With Scholes gone they might actually be able to win a decent tackle.

For mine, if you add Sneijder or a player of his ability to that side in that position and they will be in the box seat for another premiership. He's unnecessary but he'll contribute a lot to that team.
I don't actually know how Sneijder plays to be honest, all I know is that he is called the Sniper and that Rafael van der Vaart is suppossed to be a poor man's version of Sneijder. So I'm guessing he is a good goal-scorer and also a very good ball-distributor (well obviously).

move would make sense for both teams

sneijderman's a true 10. he'd add something new to the epl and kill it under ferguson imo. classy player and a classy person. and might be what man u needs to compete with the spanish teams

inter could use the cash for their rebuilding project

Seeing what Van Der Vaart did last season makes me think Sneijder will kill it

Exactly, in his first EPL season without a pre-season with us he (VDV) still killed it and was our best or second best player.
If VDV can do it then Sneijder should do it easily, especially in a team that actually has good strikers.

Also, Fox Sports News are saying that Chelsea are now offering 45million for Modric. If that happens, and with the amount of players we are likely to sell, surely we would be able to afford at least a top striker and a very good midfielder to replace him.

Sneijder is so much better than VDV and he comes without the primma donna ego. Great move to go to Man U aswell, if that moves eventuates they'd have to be hot favourites for EPL 11/12

I think VDV did so well because Spurs strikers were so crap, if we had strikers who could strike he could have played a bit deeper. He is all class though, he can play several positions

Firstly they have only offered €30mill so far and Levy said last week they can offer €50mill and he still wont sell.

If they offer over 50, we'd be crazy not to sell as I really dont think he is that good and we could do alot with that sort of money.

I somehow think that Levy would be too pig headed to refuse any offer after saying he is not for sale at any price.

For a club supposedly laden with debt to spend 30-40m more on a player after already spending 50m this window is insane. It seems irresponsible spending isn't limited to the blue half of Manchester.

Or maybe it's the jealousy talking.

Modric is vastly overrated, judging by the type of cash teams are willing to pay and the fact Tottenham wont take it.

I guess part of the reason they dont want to sell if because Bale will go as well. It's all good selling quality players for big money, but when youre a club like Tottenham(no offence), its tougher to replace those players.

In other news, apparently Real are going to offer 30mil for Van Persie.

It's not like they're buying the highest quality available either. We're not talking about David Villa, Wesley Sneijder or Daniel Van Buyten - Modric for 30m+:lol:

Unfortunately you're right about Modric but I rate Sandro as potentially a better midfielder. I'm not sure why Chelski are so desperate to offer so much money for him, its not as though he is another Torres.

I'm not bothered about Bale and VDV going anywhere as they have both stated publicly on more than one occasion that they want to stay and get Spurs back into the top 4. That will depend on our strike force imo.

We shouldn't even be talking about Modric as he was tapped up in the first place and the only way he found out about the offer from Chelski was when he read about it in the media and apparently Levy is taking this all the way to the top. He has not only written to the head of the EPL but he has also reported the matter to UEFA and FIFA and apparently sent a copy of all correspondence to Sep Blatter, although I'm not sure what writing to Blatter will achieve.

He's not a happy camper atm.

If you owned a club would you rather the club spend 70 mil and win 2 or 3 trophies like United, or spend 10-20 mil and win nothing as Arsenal seem to like to do?

Win 2-3 trophies and continue to hemorrhage under a mountain of debt and have to sell players to break even?

You can't blame United for spending big. You're right, I would be delighted if Arsene Wenger spent 70m on players. "Delighted" is an understatement. However it's incredibly reckless and unsustainable. Take into account the EU debt problems, and the US near defaulting, who knows financially what shape United and all 'big spending' clubs will be in in a few years.

Yeh but success breeds profit, I remember hearing a few years back winning the champions league is worth about $70-80m all up for a club like United in terms of prize money, brand value, merchandising and other corporate opportunities. Besides spending £30m on 2 blokes who could possibly be regulars for the next 10-15 years is a good investment.

Just on transfers, apparently Barca and Udinese have agreed a fee of around €27m for Alexis Sanchez.
