Transfer Rumours

Geez Barca cant have enough money lying around for Cesc as well, surely

Wouldn't want him anyway. We already have the 2 best CM's in the world and there's 3 potential world beaters in the B team who also play CM, I also don't mind Keita in that role. Sanchez us a more useful signing, he's superior to Pedro, and maybe even Villa, but with Bojan going and Jeffren also possibly going we needed a re-enforcement up front, besides 27 mil isn't bad for a bloke who was judged serie A player of the season especially considering how much Liverpool paid for Stewart Downing

Go for it Cesc - join Barca and warm the bench!

At full strength all of Xavi, Busquets, Messi, Iniesta, Sanchez (if he signs) and Villa are automatic selections.

Don't know why Cesc would be interested in sitting on the side lines for all the big matches tbh.

Surely he'd be selected over Busquets? Of course, that leaves them without a holding midfielder.....hmm maybe you are right.

There's no doubt that in-between all the Catalan pride, Cesc is well aware of the stark reality of a proposed move to Barca. As above, I have no doubt that in a full strength lineup, his 40m backside would be warming the bench with the other substitutes. This plus the transfer fee is why I can't see him leaving this Summer.

Once Xavi retires though, it's a done deal.

Busquets starts ahead of Fab for the national team

Woah. Really?
Yeah...why would he be stupid enough to go to a team where he would play off the bench most of the time? Don't get me wrong, having a player like that in your side regardless of where he plays from is a massive, massive boost. But is it worth paying 40 million plus?

By the way, Foxsports say that a newspaper (don't know if it was from South America or Europe) has said that Real have agreed to a 45 million transfer for Neymar, but the issue is now when he gets there; Santos, predictably, want to keep him until January, Real want him now.
Can anyone comment on whether or not Neymar is worth that much? For all the hype around him, I still haven't seen him play so I can't really comment.

Hard to say regarding Neymar, he'll either turn out to be another Romario or another Robinho

Would you mind explaining the difference to me? I know Robinho is a very highly regarded player, I know the name Romario but have never heard of him otherwise. I'm assuming you are saying one has wasted potential and the other fulfilled their potential?

Sanchez to Barcelona.
The Spanish champions have announced on their website that Udinese star Alexis Sanchez has joined in a deal worth €37.5 million and will be presented on Monday

Robinho is rubbish, flashy but has been a flop in Europe for most of his career (Citeh paid €42m for him and sold him 2 seasons later for €18m). Romario is an all time great. Won world player of the year in 94, something Robinho will never even get nominated for in his career

Ah ok, makes sense to me.
I still haven't watched him play yet (Neymar), but from what everyone is saying about him, I think it's - hopefully - more likely he'd be another Romario. Whilst I'm not sure if he would be a player of Romario's calibre and standing, I think that it's more likely he'd be regarded as one of the best in the world than a flop. He's only 19 though so it's a very long way to go yet.
He's already got 5 goals in 9 games for Brazil....for a kid his age that is crazy.

He looks the goods but 3 of his goals have been in friendlies against modest opposition. Brazilian Ronaldo was scoring almost a goal a game in the respected Dutch league at the same age and by age 20 was runner up for the Ballon D'or.
It's hard to say how he'll handle European football, alot of Brazilian prodigies have flopped in Europe for one reason or another. Whilst some guys who weren't that highly regarded coming out of Brazil have become world beaters. A guy like Sanchez to me is a safer bet, maybe the ceiling is abit lower but if a guy can perform in Serie A that's usually a good sign

Kun Aguero > Man Citeh for £39m

Put your house on City for the league while you can still get some value...
