To the whingers - it's only a matter of time before the full details of what 7 & 10 had offered are leaked out.

Sure, you may have wanted certain things that you didn't get but you need to realise that

a) they might not have even been on offer or
b) they would have come at a significant financial cost

It's easy to know what should have been done in hindsight but there are practical considerations to be taken into account during negotiations such as these. There is always give and taken and you have no idea what was being offered and for what impact.

Im of the belief that the NRL grants should be proportionate the amount of TV exposure the clubs get.

It is no fair that teams like the Dragons/Broncos/Tigers etc. get the same deal as a team like Cronulla/Canberra. The bigger teams can continue to grow sponsorship revenue, and be able to invest more into their football operation, while the smaller teams are continually left behind because they struggle for sponsors. They should be compensated by the NRL/TV Deal.

Move the Sunday arvo game to 4pm instead of 3pm and it is live anyway... 1 hour change and it becomes a live game. Any 2:30pm game will finish about then so there is no conflict in time. You can't say it changes the game that much either... By 4:30pm in winter the lights are on anyway. Minimal change and it forces channel 9's hand. Then there might even be a Sunday evening game as well.

Channel 9 and Fox have had the deck stacked in their favour ever since SL due to the first and last rights arrangement. They were never giving that up without significant compensation.

Oh wait, they did. The games shown situation is really no worse than before. They practically gave up their advantage for this deal AND we got them to pay twice as much for the privelege. Fixed scheduling is the cherry on top.

The NRL has been a code in repair in this country ever since SL. Not everything gets fixed at once.

The game will be hugely better off from now on. Stop with the tantys.

All of the things that I have said - about LEK reports, about Channel 10 & 7 being involved etc - had all later been published in papers and proven to be true because they all came from reliable sources.
