It was essentially the Charlie Sheen show...how can you do such a show without Charlie Sheen?

It's ratings will be very high at first because people will want to see how they get Charlie out of the show. I think Kutcher will be a long-lost brother or something... considering how much of a sleaze the mum is, that shouldn't be too hard to conjure up, but getting a good story for removing Charlie will be hard. If they just palm it off and brush it aside, the show won't even fully complete season 9 and will be can celled. Chuck Lorre the ignoranus should've just buried the hatchet with Charlie. The show would've at least finished with dignity.

the word dignity and Charlie Sheen probably shouldn't be associated with each other of late IMO.

I haven't said it yet, but I've given this show the arse! It took just 1 very boring, long awaited season premier for me to realise this show will never be the same again, nor will it be funny again.

Ashton Kutcher playing a 'dumb billionaire' simply does not do it for me. Charlie Sheen was the protagonist and replacing him will IMO ensure the show's current contract (which expires at the end of this season), will be it's last, IF it even manages to reach seasons end!

Charlie, good on you for quitting while you were ahead!

Never really got into this show, I watched it everytime there was literally nothing to do! I knew the show would go down hill fast when Charlie left though, it's like replacing Jerry Seinfeld in Seinfeld it just would not work.

Good call Dave, I have all the seasons on DVD, yet to watch 8, will be saving that for a special occassion as no way that 9 will be defiling my collection nor will I watch it on TV!

so happy that this cookie cutter, braindead, horribly unfunny show for dullards is dying a slow, painful death.

shows like this see 8+ seasons, while shows like Arrested Development struggle hand over foot to get to 3. it is shameful to the planet that this is the case.

Why? Because he owns the DVDs which made the show the #1 rated sitcom in the world? Granted it's shit now, but wasn't back then!
It always was and always will be shit. Just because it's popular, doesn't mean it's not utter garbage

Two and a Half Men is absolute rubbish, but I actually don't mind Big Bang Theory. However, I would never feel inclined to watch episode after episode...

NBC is where it's at currently with the great comedies... Thursday nights has (in no particular order) 30 Rock, The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Community.

=P~

Why do you always have to be the one to bring up AD? Do you know why that show last 3 seasons and got canceled? If AD was really as good as you're making it out to be it would've been high in the ratings and would not have been canceled;

Despite the approval from critics, Arrested Development never climbed in the ratings. Fox aired the final four episodes of the third season in a block as a two-hour series finale on February 10, 2006, opposite the opening ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympics (which was being broadcast on NBC).

There's only ever been one genuinely good American comedy show - Seinfeld

Everything else prior and since has been crap.

Two and a half men is the most mindnumblingly unamusing tedious shit that only people with an IQ less than triple digits would find remotely amusing.

Can't believe people actually bought the DVD's. I haven't watched a second of this series since about episode 3, season 1. At that stage, the script was already being repeated.
