Yep just what the nrl needs a team in Singapore and teams with no juniors.Actually I’d say that the ones with the creative thinking are the ones not in encumbered by nswrl suburban thinking all their lives.

lol you do know that this is the reality NOW dont you? Like how many clubs have QRL or NSW cup partnerships? Canberra, Storm, Roosters, Dolphins, Souths etc etc But its ok for them but somehow it shows Perth shouldn't get an NRL team? You're having a laugh.Yes they are, they will always choose a place that gives the rest of the clubs more access to nrl ready juniors, as for redcliffe with cq and png, good on them, but the dolphins aren't some start up franchise whos not competetive, they are a real pathway to 1st grade, png could partner up with any 1st grade side, as it will give them an opportunity to fan out into the comp, whats in it for them to side with Perth, especially if you say that they'll be fielding a resreve grade side for 3-4 year lead up... png could do that themseves, so wtf do they need perth for? You're the one being disingenuous here, basically to anyone who isn't perth, the nrl don't want to start a franchise from scratch anywhere, so they had directed perth to seek out NSB, you dont like it, so want to go it alone by pilfering qcup clubs and png, imagine what the clubs would think about perth taking all their talent, offering nothing in return, perth would be great if they were already an reserve grade competetive ready club, be a shoe in, but they are not.... might as well be toronto
See there you go being disingenuous again. You're idea of expansion is to plonk a long dead Sydney club anywhere so it can be brought back to life, regardless of if its a good idea for that city. Typical NSWRL small time suburban mentality.Yep just what the nrl needs a team in Singapore and teams with no juniors.
Nswrl is the only rugby league competition In the world that was able to expand successfully.See there you go being disingenuous again. Yep, good job WA has jnrs.Nswrl is the only rugby league competition In the world that was able to expand successfully.
expanding to an area that has juniors is something most people would think is a good safe idea
Yeh to support a reserve grade sideYep, good job WA has jnrs.
Is that the sound of goalposts moving I can hear? lol.Yeh to support a reserve grade side
Your arguing with someone else about the nrl wanting to put teams in where they have established juniorsIs that the sound of goalposts moving I can hear? lol.
I think it's best to avoid arguing too much with dyed in the wool NSWRL fans. I've got most of them on ignore because they don't have anything meaningful to say. The forum is much easier to navigate without reading through their haphazard logic that changes more often than the weather in Melbourne to suit their agenda.lol you do know that this is the reality NOW dont you? 'as for redcliffe with cq and png, good on them' So its WA link up with PNG and QRL club bad, Dolphins link up with same good. Hmmm not bias much!
Vlandys probably suggested WA govt to speak with Bears to shut them up lol. Interestingly in the original article it said WA Govt had been suggested to talk to "clubs", plural. Of course the Sydney biased media jumped on the Bears bit without any consideration for who else they might have been directed to.
So when you said the NRL wont put teams in areas that have, and I quote "teams with no juniors" you weren't talking about perth? ok great glad we got that sorted out.Your arguing with someone else about the nrl wanting to put teams in where they have established juniors
I’m agreeing with him and pointing out your error
I get it all you care about is a Perth nrl team and every argument is tailored to that
Perth has a good local competition for a non-RL state and it has potential to grow. Adding an NRL team to Perth that's based full time in WA and owned by locals will give RL and RU juniors a reason to play in Perth under the NRLWA system. Linking up with North Sydney Bears and playing out of NSO in the NSW Cup will do nothing for junior RL in Perth. We want to grow the game in Perth at all levels, and to do that we need a Pirates NRL club that's fielding teams from U/16s to Queensland Cup .Your arguing with someone else about the nrl wanting to put teams in where they have established juniors

If the NRl cant make Perth work it really should just give up and revert back to a two state comp and not worry about anywhere else. The ground is so fertile here for RL growth, has been for over a decade. The idea that the only way it can work is to transplant a Sydney club is so laughable, but probably tells you an awful lot about the state of the game in some peoples minds.Perth has a good local competition for a non-RL state and it has potential to grow. Trying to reason with NSWRL fans about expansion is like telling a schizophrenic child in a psych ward that they're ill and need help. They'll just deny there's anything wrong and call you crazy. If the NRl cant make Perth work it really should just give up and revert back to a two state comp and not worry about anywhere else. And once again I'm not fully averse to a partnership with the Bears, under the right conditions: WA owned, WA branded, WA based in its entirety, WA jnr systems , all games in WA unless NS LC wants to buy one for NS oval.View attachment 63668
Mate we have sports teams doing it every week in EVERY sport. This isn't some ground breaking idea to include Perth in a national sports comp lolPerth is a big ask as a fly in from the east coast. A team takes up a lot of dollars on a plane. There and back for visitors.
Every other sports league in the country manages to field a team in Perth, even the Australian Ice Hockey League. They don't use teleportation to get from Perth to the east coast. They use on a plane. If they can do it then so can we.Perth is a big ask as a fly in from the east coast. A team takes up a lot of dollars on a plane. There and back for visitors.
Perth have the juniors to support a reserve grade side nowSo when you said the NRL wont put teams in areas that have, and I quote "teams with no juniors" you weren't talking about perth? ok great glad we got that sorted out.
Perth has a growing junior base (around 21 Jnr clubs now, elite jnr programs a SHS scholarship program and massively growing female participation and currently produces the occasional first teamer), not good enough on its own for an nrl club yet, but could be by time we have an established one. Supplemented with other areas as most clubs do and all good in the West.
The ARLC can easily afford the cost. Last year the NSWRL provided Cronulla with a grant of $223,833. If a state body can afford to provide $223,833 to an NRL club then the ARLC will have no problem funding the $240k for travel from Perth to the east coast.Mate we have sports teams doing it every week in EVERY sport. This isn't some ground breaking idea to include Perth in a national sports comp lol
NRL has a revenue of $500mill, travel costs to include a Perth team in the NRL come to around $240k a year. I'm sure the NRL can afford it!!
Did Souths fill their 2002 NRL squad with 20 players from their NSW First Division team?Perth have the juniors to support a reserve grade side now
it we are talking nrl then it would probably be a decade before they could rely upon thier juniors and not rely on others
of course juniors aren’t the only issue to look at for expansion but your argument we don’t have enough juniors to greatly expand should mean we should focus upon the clubs that do
