Yep and like I said not at their home groundStill in Sydney as opposed to Western Australia
I can imagine bears vs panthers getting 10k bears fans making the trek out west

Being able to see your team play in Sydney for the first time in 25 years would be a great outcome for a diehard fan surely?Yeh and still they want to play home games at nso
the away games aren’t going to be played there
Well its no different than panthers vs cowboysYep and like I said not at their home ground

Its why i said play them annually there as trialsBeing able to see your team play in Sydney for the first time in 25 years would be a great outcome for a diehard fan surely?
Adding more games to an already congested Sydney market and playing them at a run down suburban oval in front of small crowds, doesn't make any sense, other than appealing to nostalgia
Yep it sure wouldBeing able to see your team play in Sydney for the first time in 25 years would be a great outcome for a diehard fan surely?

No they are applying as a bears franchise and part of that is going to be some home games at nsoWell its no different than panthers vs cowboys
Any objections from the cowboys for not getting any nso games???
Not sure why you think they deserve any games at nso... they are vying for 18th licence to be the perth team
Yep it sure would
having 2 games at year at your spiritual base would be even more amazing
side benefit would be getting loads more fans from the north shore following league
but yeh let’s just ignore what is amongst the richest areas in Australia
then wonder why we have poor corporate support
Why is it a given? The Swans didn’t play home games in Melbourne after signing up to move. If the Bears are signing up to be our Perth team, they have to be our Perth team.No they are applying as a bears franchise and part of that is going to be some home games at nso
that’s just a given
if you don’t like it email vlandys and tell him not to do it I’m sure he will listen to you and others on here saying this
That’s the logic that will be used to white ant the WA Bears. People will cherry pick games where Perth is playing in the rain at home with a small crowd while it’s sunny in Sydney and start whining that the Bears could be playing at a packed NSO in the sunshine.I’m sure bears vs manly and bears vs Chooks wouldve otherwise got massive crowds in Perth instead of nso
(or nz2 whoever gets it)
how will the people of Perth cope not getting to see manly at home

It’s a shame your concern for Perth being white anted doesn’t apply to the bearsWhy is it a given? The Swans didn’t play home games in Melbourne after signing up to move. If the Bears are signing up to be our Perth team, they have to be our Perth team.

I would if it was nzWould you hold the same opinion of this proposal if they became the second NZ team or it was as an additional Qld side instead of Perth
If these games at NSO were away games sure it is workable but playing home games in Sydney as a Perth/WA side or a NZ side etc makes no sense at all
So gws is a joke ?Nice try but I think GWS is a joke of a model. Why would we want to follow that?
If we are going to follow a model of theirs I would be copying the Swans (btw that is not what the Bears are suggesting)
Looking at Sydney crowds pre 90s isn’t very helpfulSince 1957 North Sydney average crowd was 7800

That doesn't make a compelling case for re-admittance.
Squeezing another team and extra games into an already saturated market, doesn't strike me as a way to increase corporate support either.
Balamin was discussed as a merger with parramatta but they would have been the weaker side of the merger in the late 90s.Looking back during and after the Super League War, what should've happened:
*Parramatta and Balmain merge
*Canterbury and Wests merge
*Norths or Manly relocate to Central Coast
*Norths or Manly stay in Sydney and represent the whole of north sydney which includes the lower north shore and nothern beaches.
At the moment, the Wests Tigers are living a nomadic life, while Manly are only a representing a certain area. Central Coast has no team. And on a rugby league website, League Unlimited, there is a thread called "WA Bears"
Things could have been different.
I would if it was nz
maybe even qld too
I’m actually worried it’s going to be four games at nso when one or two is plenty
So gws is a joke ?
lmao but Gillion backs them with ever increasing funds
Pvl = whatever suits rugba liegOne would be max (gritted teeth). Any further games should be away. I’m hoping that sanity prevails though
North Sydney's crowds were never anything but very mediocre though, right up until the end of their existence.Looking at Sydney crowds pre 90s isn’t very helpful
they’ve grown hugely since the nrl started
