Western Corridor NRL bid

Love the sound of the Western Jets (Captures Brisbanes western suburbs, Ipswich, Logan and Towoomba).

I have a feeling Gallop will make this happen over the CC. Unfortunately the CC might just have to pick up the Sharks or even Manly's pieces (Players) and start fresh on the CC with the Bears over the next 5-10 years IF anything happens to either club.

Seriously, if that merkin Ribot is involved in any way, shape or form, the bid should be put where it belongs, in the sh*tter.

Until that arsehole is punted from anything to do with it, there should be no credence given to to the bid whatsoever.

Isn't the question really whether the comp can support another team? Sure, there are areas that can quite probably support a team but should that be as a new team or in place of an existing franchise?

SEQ, CC, Perth, PNG et al are worthy cases but how do they come in? One thing for sure, who can imagine an "independent" commission of the existing clubs (an oxymoron in itself) voting themselves out?

Also why haven't the idiots who keep putting RIbot the Brittlesack's name up realised that there is a very large proportion of the rugby league community who will never forget?

I'm a proud Logan man and would not support any type of Ipswich based team. Calling it West Jets would be a good idea and I think the bid has merit but I don't think it will get any serious support from Loganites.

Can't have Ipswich, as Logan and T'ba will baulk and Western is vague, Ipswich is to the East of a lot of places they'd want to get on board anyway. South Queensland Jets, the name needs a geographic anchor.

I disagree queenslanders don't associate CC with the gosford region but more so the Rockhampton area The same with brisbanites, we would associate wests with the Ipswich, goodna springfield area. so I think it would work.

Could Newtown Jets stop Ipswich using that name much like Redcliffe did with the Gold Coast ( Titans ) . From memory Redcliffe used the argument that they had ambitions of joining the NRL , which would never happen anytime soon , so whats to stop Newtown using the same argument.

Id like a Logan/Ipswich team to enter probably not befpore the CC and Perth, also I dont want them to be the Jets either.

As they are already called the Jets then no.

The Jets however are currently the worst team in QLD.

Ipswich Jets already use the name Jets. The Gold Coast Dolphins didn't exist before. It was a new team.

lol, Ipswich is the weakest of the Perth, CC, 2nd Brisbane team bid I have heard so far.

Please, hold your breath for this team....it will mean less idiots on LU.

As for Geographical, maybe they can be the South Western Jet-fueled Scorpion Clydesdale's?

I can see that changing over the next 12 months..

My support is still with CC and Perth. Far more planning, have better reasons for entry, and SE QLD got their turn last time with the Titans. Titans need time to get a strong foothold and other areas need an NRL side.

really.. 2013 might be even to early for any expansion..

we cant even get the full 16 clubs up to scratch at the moment..

Because 9 of them are choking eachother...

Perth, CC, an Ipswich/Logan team and Wellington would have a much larger base of support, but two Sydney teams would have to either relocate or dissolve. Sharks and Tigers would be the most likely candidates IMO...

CC Bears have to be a shoe-in. If they are not admitted then the NRL has proven to be a political driven organisation.

Perth should be admitted as the second team.

Eight months out from a possible decision of expansion, Ribot decides Ipswich needs a team.

Northern Eagles was Manly. Going to their matches the "supporters' would yell out Manly and even the ground announcer did.

Norths Sydney was shafted and the Central Coast has been also.

Bring back a team combining the North Shore and a great developing area - the Central Coast.

Don't expand for the sake of having teams spread throughout Australia.

Most people outside QLD and NSW do not care about rugby league and never will.

CC Bears and Perth Reds 2013.

Another QLD team and PNG/NZ/QLD team 2017. (Inform these two clubs on the annoucement of the teams in 2011)
