I just tried to watch the game, how anyone who has not undergone the brainwashing necessary to condition themselves putting up with the stoppages and lack of actual player participation in the circus can sit through it is beyond me
Surely any League devotee can see ways of getting the ball across the line the Yanks don't even contemplate, I'd hate to see our game played without peripheral vision
I very much doubt Hayne becomes a star. He'll always be lower on the pecking order. A 28 year old rookie doesn't scream investment. He's a gadget player at best.
In the part of the game I managed to stomach two exact plays in succession had the tosser, if that's what you call him, throw a ball towards a 49er which landed just inside the touch-in-goal with a defender breathing down his neckI very much doubt Hayne becomes a star. Rubbish. He is the club's number one kick/punt returner. If does more of what he did today he will become indispensable, especially to a team that has few real stars.
Expect Jarryd Hayne to become a $5-10 million a year earner in his 3rd year. And that doesn't preclude him being bought by a top eight team in his third year.
He's the clubs number one punt returner on a very short leash. He no longer returns kicks and has been splitting the punt returns. He's a long, long way from indispensable. Special teams guys are handy to have, none are seen as irreplaceable unless they offer something else on either side of the ball. Hayne hasn't shown that he does yet.
I'd be very surprised to see him get a third year deal.
After 3 rounds49ers are so shit.
