I watched Dragonball with my cousin on Sunday.

I went in there with little expectation, it was OK. Wasn't the worst movie I seen. It was ok for what it was.

Few things annoyed me though, but that's only the Dragonball Z fan within me.

I too went in with low expectations, but i wasn't expecting the tripe i saw. I found it terrible for many reasons. I won't go into all of them but i'll list several.

1) None of the characters in the movie even slightly resembled the characters from the cartoons. Goku played by a skinny white kid who attends high school . On top of that, how could there be no Krillin in the movie???

2) The movie violated some of the basic principles of Dragonball Z. For example being able to turn into a Ozaru without a tail is simple wrong.

3) The plot was one of the most predicable i've seen, i basically knew what was going to happen in every key moment before it actually happened.

4) The lack of fight scenes was quite amazing, i mean this was the premise of DBZ and yet for large parts of the movie had to endure bullsh*t teenage issues like trying to ask a girl out.

Now i get the movie is an adaptation so it doesn't have to exactly follow the storylines of DBZ, but they changed things around so much that you could barely recognise it.

You may know this, or may not going by the above post, but it's based on Dragonball, not Dragonball Z.

DieHard - pretty sweet movie this one. John McClane is visiting his wife in LA when terrorists crash their christmas party. 1 man army John Mclain uses his wits and skills (and knowlege of the inside of buildings and elevator shafts) to take down Hans Gruber and his terrorist band of terrorists. helped out by a black cop with a liking for twinkies. solid film. the bit where McClane was on the roof was pretty awesome. good action scenes. great explosions. 8/10

Die Hard 2.
Detective Sipowitz looked lost without his short sleeve shirt and tie. Fred Thompson was his usual oldguy self as the Airport chief. did you know that terminator 2 is in this movie? this movie hasthe most horrific movie plane crash ive ever seen. kinda ruthless scenes in this film actually (terrorsits crash plane killing passengers, guy gets his throat cut with a massive knife, bad guy gets jammed in a baggage machine and finally, 1 man, boeng 747 engine. you know who wins!) not as good plot though and some lame acting. ridiculous ending involving a trail of fuel, a boeng 747 and a zippo lighter. 6/10.

Die Hard 3.
Starts well, ends ridiculously. plot isnt that strong. Plot tried to be clever but just missed the mark IMO. Bad guys arent that good at their roles. Willis takes out 5 guys single handed in an elevator. awesome.
possibly the most ridiculous scene ever when Samuel L Jackson and Willis climb the winch wire onto the ship while its moving. 5/10

Die Hard 4.
good stuff. McClain has turned from unlucky cop to super hero as he takes out a helicopter with a car and rides a fighter jet to the ground on its wing. elaborate techie plot involving a fire sale.
the kid he was with was pretty good at his role as computer geekazoid. the geek actually kills 2 guys in this fillm. solid action 7/10

Lol the basic principles do not change from Dragonball to Dragonball Z. Are you telling me that in Dragonball its possible to turn into an Ozaru without a tail? Also i wasn't aware that Goku attended high school in Dragonball. Not having Krillin in the movie was a cardinal sin.

Just saw "Mean Girls" for the first time the other night and found myself really enjoying it. So worth it just for the Jinglebell Rock dance!

Mmmm, I love those girls with their short skirts, long hair and preppy dresses. Also made when Lindsay Lohan was still a sane, delicious redhead. I had a big thing for LiLo circa 2004....

Rise of the foot soldier. Been meaning to watch it for ages but just hadn't got around to it. I thought it was very good.
