Saw "The Proposition" on the Weekend. It's an Aussie western set in the Qld outback last century. Great film, although brutally violent (though you'd expect that given that Nick Cave wrote the screenplay). Top shelf acting and cinematography.

Watched NightWatch the other night. Interesting film, not as good as I thought it would and could be.

Saw Batman Begins last night, excellent movie much better than I thought it would be. Also saw "Christmas with the Kranks" which surprised me I wasn't expecting much but it was actually quite funny.

In Good Comapny - 8.5/10

Absolutely loved it. Well done piece of sincere, sweet, and funny mature comedy

The Amityville Horror (2005)

Not as "ghosty" as I was expecting, and overall pretty lame.

5/10

Pride and Prejudice, it's not as good as the mini series but it has merits.

anyone else seen this?

I wanna go see it but I rarely enjoy movies based on books I love so I'm a bit unsure if I'll bother or not

Wolf Creek.

Not so much scary but definitely shocking.

A good slant on the serial killer genre.

It does for the Pommie backpacker dollar what bird flu does for KFC.

Maybe it's just me but I found John Jarrats character piss funny.
Sick yes, but a couple of things he did made me laugh out loud.

A couple of 70s gems I watched last night

Carrie- Actually I didn't consider this much of a gem. I thought the much hyped conclusion was pretty lame. The build up to the blood falling on her was tense, after that I thought the whole thing was kinda laughable.

Coffy- lol blaxploitation movie, I wasn't really watching it, just trying to make sure I didn't miss any of the scenes with Pam Grier's boobs (which was most scenes).

John Jarrett is absolutely great in it, a perfect casting as he plays it with the proper amount of Aussie bushman who you only realise later has stepped over the line of insanity. i have spent a bit of time in remote Australian areas and am sure I have met blokes very much like his character -just not insane yet...

very shocking and confronting as well as graphic. at least 10 people would have walked out of the screening that i was at.

i liked it, best Aussie movie i have saw in a long time.

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose

Really creepy, but grounded more in reality than most other horror type movies.

Excellent film - 8.5/10
