What movie have you recently seen?

Avatar: I thought it was ok. I didn't think it was great, but it was ok. I can understand that all the special effects and animation would make it the most expensive movie ever made, but I did think the storyline could've been improved. I like the concept though. That was good. I can see the storyline continuing into a sequel, but it's probably something I wouldn't see.

Forgot I watched this too. And pretty much came to the same conclusion, great visually but lacked it in buckets come the story.

Day of the Dead.

Nowhere near as good as Dawn of the Dead, but it was still pretty decent.

For mine the remake of Dawn was pretty good, the remake of Day was disgraceful.

Enjoyed both originals but Dawn was the better of the 2.

Remakes. I haven't seen the original Day of the Dead, but imo the remake of Dawn of the Dead was equal (if not better) than the original.

Original Day of the Dead is only slightly behind the Original Dawn of the Dead, so way in front of the remake.

Understand where you are coming from on the Dawn remake vs original, but I prefer the original.

Just saw Little Miss Sunshine seeing as though it was Oscar nominated and all- possibly one of the most boring and depressing movies I've ever seen

Lost in Translation.. a tale of insomnia, isolation and boredom

nothing really happens in the movie, but it draws you in with the fantastic cinematography and timely humour.. decent movie to watch if you're feeling just that, bored. Chances are you'll hate if you're looking for something action-packed and convivial.

Surprisingly, i very much enjoyed it... although i 'had' to do it for my AOS Hsc..

Personally, I loved "Shutter Island". I've become a huge DiCaprio fan and I thought the story and acting wad superb. Really enjoyed the film. It led me one way and then took me another.

My opinion, of course.

Boondock Saints 2: Meh.

Cirque Du Freak: While aimed at the kiddy market I actually really liked this. John C Reilly was as good as always. Apparently based on a book or series or something. Never read them so not sure how much it stays true.

Bitch Slap: Throwback to 70s styled sexism. Think Grindhouse but not as polished. Watching it as I type & rightly or wrongly I'm really enjoying it. It's meant to be B-grade, they don't try & hide it. If you want to waste time with gratuitous violence, big boobs & bad one liners this is the movie to do it with. :lol:
