Saw the last hour of Resident Evil - Afterlife on free to air last night.

All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't see the first hour.

I actually rather enjoyed Silent Hill also (having never played any of the games to compare though).

Watched Interstellar last night, really rather enjoyed it, even if some of the "sciencey" stuff was a bit over my head!
Why is it in all 'dangerous mission' movie there's always gotta be a dick, haha. Helps with the draaaaameeerrrrr I guess.

Love the robot helpers, they were groovy in both function and "personality", I want one!!

I've tried watching Interstellar about six times and kept falling asleep at about the 20 minute mark. WTF is all the shit about cornfields and dust storms??

Don't tell me...watching movies in a comfortable recliner is not conducive to good viewing....and a few beers.

Fury.

Good not great. Shia's most mature performance.

He gets such a bad rap because he is a tool in real life, plus he was in the awful Transformer movies (also Crystal Skull, even though I don't think it's that bad).
He's actually a very good actor but people can't see past the crap he's in and assume he's terrible. He's far from the worst thing in those movies.

He was great in both Lawless and Fury, and I even enjoyed his performances in the Wall Street sequel, and Disturbia.

The best ones I have seen are probably Need for Speed, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
But even they weren't all that good.

Hopefully things will change with the upcoming Warcraft...then after that Assassin's Creed.

Moon.

Smart sci-fi made on a small budget.
Sam Rockwell is pretty much the only person in it, and he is excellent.
Directed by Duncan Jones (David Bowie's son) who is now doing the Warcraft movie I just mentioned above.

Thanks for the recommendation. Being a sci-fi fan myself, I'd be very interested.

The best I've seen in the last couple of years are Prometheus and Europa Report. Damned if I can stay awake during Interstellar.

Oops...just realised I've already got it.

I've seen Hitman (2007) many times over the years, however yesterday for the first time I saw the unrated (extended) version of it. My gosh it's brutal. It wasn't until I saw that version did I realise how sheltered us Aussies have been! Still a decent flick.

Nightcrawler.

Gyllenhaal's character is the closest thing to Patrick Bateman that I've seen for a long time (albeit a lower class version), beneath the surface of all that research and knowledge is an utterly vacant sociopath that couldn't exist in the real world.

Definitely saw some influences from Bale's Bateman in Gyllenhaal's performance a couple of times.
