Got round to watching Notorious (Biggie Smalls).

Was geniunely impressed with it. Also made me realise Puff Daddy (or P Diddy or whatever) is a bit of a knob head.

Just watched a 2015 movie called Parallels.I thought was quite good for a sci-fi movie about alternate Earths....

....until the last minute. WTF went on there?

7/10 before the ending.

Goldblums Fly is fantastic. I haven't seen it in ages but saw the box set on jb website on weekend so thought you might have got it.

The Shallows - Wasn't expecting much. It was ok... Ending was completely far fetched though...

The Big Short last night, that kind of thing interests me so I liked it. Found some of it hard to follow but probably understood 80% of it. My mrs couldn't handle it though. Thought Steve Carrell was awesome.

Speed Racer 8/10 - One of the most faithful and entertaining cartoon adaptations I've ever seen, if not the best. Deserved way more praise than what it got.

I finally got around to watching Fargo.
Quirky and mostly entertaining, didn't quite live up to the hype id heard.
I can't work out if I like the Cohen's or not.

It's been a while since I saw the movie but I enjoy the TV show a lot more.

The TV show is better. Especially season 2. The quirkiness of the characters is what makes it.

Well, it's different that's for sure, the Wachowski's had some balls to deliver something so against type.

The whole tone is deliberately loud, goofy and sentimental but imo that was supposed to be the point. That's exactly what this (and most) cartoons are, plus I really appreciated the fact that they took the time to actually read the source material and get all the characterisations bang on. Amazing how many times films adapt things wrong for no apparent reason, look at how lazy the transformers movies are.

Also a pleasant change from the Dark Gritty Remake syndrome that seems to have caught Hollywood.
