Top Gun Maverick

Excellent if unbelievable popcorn movie, will go back in a couple of weeks to watch it again with my daughter, by then hopefully my ears will not be blocked from having a cold.

I'm going to see it on Tuesday. I cant wait! I would have seen the original around 20 times between the cinema and drive in back in the day.

The thing that got me about Top Gun: Maverick, is I knew I would enjoy it simply for the 80s nostalgia factor. What really blew me away was that it's actually a very good movie in its own right.

I saw it in one of those 4DX cinemas where the seats move and they simulate wind and stuff, it was the best movie going experience of my life.

I'm not entirely interested in 4DX, I like to almost plank when watching movies (I like empty cinemas so I can stick my feet up on the seats in front), but I do want to try it once. I might actually give it a go for Top Gun: Maverick (which I've seen already so if the experience really doesn't agree with me it wont matter too much).

Just saw Top Gun Maverick.

The nods to the original were just about perfect. Right down to the love interest driving a silver Porsche. Cruise may be a weirdo freak in real life, but he makes one hell of a movie. I loved it & will be seeing it again.

The flight scenes especially at the end were amazing.

Just seen Top Gun Maverick again with my daughter, now the wait begins for 4k bluray.

Jennifer Connolly is a total fox, a minx if you will. If she were President she'd be Babe-raham Lincoln.

The only "cringey" part of the film for me is Rooster saying "Talk to me Dad", it's a little urgh imo...

I think there was more than that - but it’s Top Gun, it’s supposed to be!

Top Gun Maverick is perfectly executed. It’s a remake of the original but not in a shit way. Tom Cruise nails the role, he could have made it a cheesy cringe fest but he absolutely kills it.
What a pleasant surprise this movie was, loved it.

Went and saw JW dominion.
I like the series, despite its flaws and this movie is a perfectly fine popcorn movie.

Old cast was cool, action set pieces were pretty good, a couple of genuine jump scares.

Story is convoluted and silly but it's generally entertaining.

I have some views on the story and it's direction but I'll save that for later.

I do think it's time to retire the series now, there's really nothing else they can do.

7/10.

I pretty much agree with all of this, and I thought the second one was the worst movie I saw that year so this was a big improvement (but not as good as first Jurassic World).

Saw it the other day with my wife, I felt like a teenager again watching this film. You can't beat 80's nostalgia.

Spiderhead - Interesting premise but I gradually lost interest as it went on. Another netflix movie I will have forgotten I had even watched in a few weeks time. Stars Chris Hemsworth.

Just came back from seeing Elvis. I thought it was very good and very entertaining. Captured the essence of the King covering from his early years (and some look back to his childhood) all the way up until his death. Even though the movie runs at 2 1/2 hours, time just flies.

Its at least a 7.5/10 in my book.

I watch"The Village" again.

I watched when it came out.

Tought me empathy never knew I had.

Protect the blind child.

Tears stream from my face, I feel no shame for it.

Great flick.
