He'll be a wallaby shorty and then it will become a massive coup for union.

RL administration is pre historic. How anyone thought it wouldn't be unfair for a rabble like Parra, currently devoid of any recognisable talent, to sign him for 'unders' is beyond me.

He'll most likely never be back now because he'll be one of the first picked for the wallabies and will struggle to make more coin in the NRL than he will over in Yawnion.

So what is the problem.
As Usual everytime a an EX NRL player stars in Yawnion ,RL gets mentioned.
The focus is put on what great players RL has.

I heard that Mortimer called up the NRL pleading with them to not register his contract because it wasn't fair to Brisbane / Melbourne / GWS.

Mortimer did the same with Dugan just yesterday claiming it was unfair to the Raider's and NRL must keep their 'integrity'.

More old men with archaic mindsets holding back the game.

As a follower of the mighty eels, I am happy that he's not at the eels, we don't need backs as much as we need some big boppers up from and a decent hooker first. Get that then waste money on the backs with the pretty moves.

Ye because we have amazing backs other than jarryd who will be better than him

Schubert might make him do counselling and a 50,000 word essay on why being a bit 'naughty' is much worse than doing things that are illegal and immoral.

Perhaps he'll ask the Waratahs for a dossier on his prior indiscretions?

After all, precedence has been set!

Again I point out, if folau goes to the wc and scores some spectacular tries and then comes back to the nrl it would be nothing but a huge international advertisement for how bloody great the nrl is. SBW did some good work there too. They're really just promoting rugby league, the losers in this are rugby union, especially when the players then go on tv and talk about how much harder and faster and better the nrl is. Honestly if all our star players went to union, played the world cup and won it for australia and then went back to the nrl it would probably make the nrl bigger than its ever been, and discredit rugby entirely and leave only the most die hard fans struggling to defend their second rate amateur game while the rest of the world's rugby fans would be forced to switch to the "serious stuff" which would be the nrl.

Imagine you were a CEO of a major company. Your company depends on its hundreds of employees to make you money. You had an employee who was a star performer and you invested 10-15 years in training, promoted them over somebody else with ability, put them up in shiny lights as one of your best.

Then they resigned, and went to your main opposition. Your existing staff were a bit dark, because they made money on the back of your star performer, but you then promoted other people who had been loyal and continued to support your company. You and your staff are still making good money off the back of the loyal and committed staff.

After a year or so, your previous employee decided he didn't like it at the other company and wanted to come back to his old position, at the same or similar salary.

From a business position, would you take him back? Yes, HE could bring you in more money than some of your existing employees, but would he wouldn't bring you in more money that 10-13 of your existing employess combined.

Would you slap all your existing employees in the face and tell them loyality to you and your company doesn't matter. Just go out there, chase the highest salary you can and don't worry about my company.

Would you? If you did, you'd be an idiot and you undermine yourself and your company because its all the staff who matter and their committment. Not one or two stars who get all the glory.

Why are you so keen on the Dragons signing Dugan. He is lazy, unreliable, undisciplined, was a toxic influence on the Raiders club and did all he could to force the Raiders to sack him. He doesn't really sound like the type of person I would like at my club. I would be more worried about the long term influence he will have at the club rather then needing to sign a fullback because yours is out for the year with an injury

People's thoughts on individual players aside, it's the process that is the issue.
Inconsistency, lack of transparency, perceptions of bias, ineffectiveness and ineptitude are the best descriptors of Schubert's time in this role.
He is a joke that needs to be moved on.

The chain of events he has been involved in are littered with dubious decisions and suspect processes.
Clean the place out and get a professional and independent audit process in place, and apply the same and consistent rules to all.

Irrelevant ek, a post for another thread.
It's not about individual players, it's about the process by which any player is assessed under the current structure.
It's all over the place like a mad woman's shit, and it stinks twice as much.

If you don't have the forwards, you don't get the metres. Was the game plan for Hayne to drop bombs from our 40 metre line in the hope falong was fast enough to reach the ingoal before the opposition? That'd be funny, never seen him run that far before to be honest.

Pretty much this. All this anguish over signing a player who has done nothing illegal (if he did, we'd all know about it).

It's a process that keeps changing whenever the governing body feels like changing it.

I wouldnt be surprised to see another club come out and snare his signature while all this shit is being drawn out. Maybe someone like the Roosters?

We're happy with RTS thanks.
On topic; there have been many NRL players that have had a huge impact on yawnion. It just proves the rugby league player is the superior athlete. Maybe we should PR this often overlooked fact.

Do you guys remember before rugby started poaching league players? Rugby and league were on a much more even standing in regard to public perception, comparisons between the codes were speculative and it was like who really knows which has the superior players. Now everyone just knows as a matter of fact that nrl is a significant notch up and I think this has been a driving force behind the nrls recent steady growth. People like to know they're seeing the best do things other people can't do, the nrl has become THE stage for the best to exhibit their rugby skill, and I think we can thank the players who went to rugby and came back and said "yeah its relatively slow and soft and easy, nrl is the shit". Basically its been a huge backfire for rugby, I think the nrl should send "league ambassadors" to rugby every few years, just to remind the world we're better. Should choose good but not great players, ones that will kick butt and then we can say "well he's not even one of the best". Like say this year you'd send reece robinson and he'd destroy despite being a relative nobody. Really don't see how any of this hurts league.
