Who replaces Cappy?

Win these next two at home and it might turn our season around, it'll definitely save the coach until he starts losing again. Lose the next two, or maybe even one, and I reckon he's gone.

It seems obvious that Cleary's the man to come in at such short notice, more than anyone he's ready to go. He also has unfinished business with us and his coaching career in general.

If we'd had three hidings this year Cappy might've been let go this week. We're playing OK footy, he deserves these two 'easier' upcoming games to build on that.

A brutal board meeting early this week will have a new coach by the end of it. I don't think we're that brutal anymore.

If we lose the next 2 I would say it's curtains.
But I don't think they pull the trigger unless they have his replacement.

Two rumours floating around the stands at Mt Smart yesterday...

1) Luke wasn't injured, he was dropped for having a public go at the coach, the training routines, etc. Apparently he was just saying what everyone was thinking but the players didn't back him up.

2) There's a player group leading the charge to replace Cappy, and they're being led by Manu.

:crazy::crazy:

Cappy's history I think..

No direction, no consequences. .

Luke certainly looked ok to me.

Sorry, bad choice of words. By "public" I meant in front of the rest of the team, but still behind closed doors.

Well if every player who criticizes Cappy is stood down before long there won't be a team, then there won't be a crowd. And if they leave it will be hard to get them back.

EW - keep out of things. You might own the club but leave the decisions to Jim.

Of interest: the Juniors and NSWarriors both won. Nothing flash but they did the job.
I am starting to think that Stacey can't be worse than Cappy. Plus he understands the mentality of the players.
I think Cappy is just lost and no amount of mentoring is going to make him a successful coach at the Warriors.

Strange comments by Cappy, who refused to comment further about Luke's injury after the match and then this.
"Tevaga may be set for more time in first grade, with Roache suffering an injury on Sunday and Issac Luke's return date remaining unclear according to McFadden."

I suspected a munity was on the cards....I hoped to be wrong, never a good thing. Particularly if Manu is leading it, such a happy character.

Vote 1 Stacey Jones (Or in Inglis' case vote 2).

A loss to Newcastle at home is surely the straw that breaks the Camels back.

You guys on paper should win easily, but it has been shown time and time again, a team who turns up an just expects to win, can get beaten by a more committed less talented side.

Is it wrong to kind of hope us to lose so we get a new coach?
I fear PW could be right in that if we win, Cappy is off the hook?

Newcastle are a pretty awful team, who might be tricky sometimes at home - but if we can't beat them by 20+ it's appalling.

How many other coaches have gone 11 straight and kept their job?

Ricky Stuart went 13 losses in a row without losing his job at the Sharks 2009-2010 (10 games in 2009, 3 games in 2010). That is, he didn't lose his job at the end of / during the streak. He did lose the job later in 2010. He had another 14 games after the streak (going 5-9) before getting the sack and Flanagan taking over for the final 7 games of the year.

Of course, Stuart had taken over a very average team in 2007 and lead that team to within 1 game of the grand final in 2008 so probably had a little more leeway than Cappy... ffs

If they can't beat the f**king Knights at home then the bloke needs to just walk the plank himself.

I fear a win against the Knights will only give Cappy another 11 losses after that to perform.
He could hold the record for the most consecutive runs of 11 losses.

Am I the only one thinking that the rest of the NRL have stepped up a gear over the last 4-5 years - individual brilliance no longer wins games? We have been left behind.
We supposedly improve our roster and still struggle.

You're not the only one, there's at least you and me. That Newcastle team is a glorified NSW Cup outfit, with a bunch of kids and a vastly overrated halves pairing. They shouldn't win NRL games, and definitely not in NZ.

Someone should email Jim with a well-thought out (not abusive) explanation of why McFadden is a dud coach, like Iafeta provided. Tell him he should speak to an expert on reading the game and realise our structure and game plan is absolutely dead in the water. Then he might get to thinking.

I'm no expert and I can see our structureand game plan is shit.
So Doyle must have some bloody clue if he watch's the games.

Now only 2 teams with zero points, 1 has their backup halves pairing and a new fullback. The other has 3 internationals in their spine.

"I was a bit surprised he knew the game plan, he was only called in yesterday but he slotted in really easily," Matulino said.

Is Manulino trying to be funny? game plan
