Slippery it could be more the fact coaches don't see the Dragons as an ideal club to coach sure the Dragons have a proud history but they rely on that way to much.

The jobs for the boys isn't a cliche its fact and thats a massive issue sure you want to show loyalty but at what cost.

Missing the finals in 3 years is the way its looking and honestly that is pathetic beyond belief and how Doust and the rest of the board can sit back and accept this shows how far the club has fallen since 2010 and the steady decline see's no end.

They should have a looked outside the box, the whole we tried to get Bellamy and bring Bennett back was a smoke screen instead of looking at realistic targets like Taylor, Stone or Griffin.

Its pretty sad when a favourite sun like Brown who could come back and ink his legacy into Dragons folk law pretty much says no thanks or even T Smith would rather stay in the UK says alot to me.

Why don't Saints do something outside the box like Souths or Roosters. They went for coaches in the ESL and are now killing it. Why do they only look at the NRL. Cowboys also went for an NRL rookie and are killing it now.

I know Saints but the issue wasn't the initial tried that with Price appointment of Steve Price it was how long they gave him. It was good that they gave him a run but after 12 months you could see he had nothing to offer. He was definately not a man to make them a top 4 outfit. They need to get a new guy and just expect him to improve the squad. After a year if the see there is no improvment then see ya later aligator. Price's first year was shocking and if it was not for beating the teams coming last in the final 2 rounds or so they would have finished where they deserved to finish and that is 3rd or 4th last.

If they are only limiting their search to the NRL then Jason Taylor is the man if they are looking for a guy with some NRL experienced or even Jim Dymock. Trent Barrett is doing well at Penrith and being in the same coaching set up as Cleary will definately bring some of that knowledge accross which can only be a good thing. Best of all he can probably bring some good forward talent accross from Penrith. They have a heap of great forwards coming through and they can't keep them all.

Price appointment was a lazy one,no thought whatsoever.Doust used him initially as a stopgap in view of getting Bellamy,it was known the interest in Bellamy in 2011,but wasn't made public months later.
Same thing has happened now with Bennett,Mary used until we got Bennett, but alas,Doust must now work harder to find the 'right 'coach.
Unfortunately it's looking like laziness will continue and Mary will get 2 years most likely.

Then again they could be in the final stages of negotiations with Sheens and are waiting until the end of hte season to announce him as head coach.

Hearing that Mary/Parish are the likely duo from next year, odds will shorten if we win this weekend....FMD.

That's bad, Mc Gregor has not won the big games this year, very Price- like. Would not be surprised at all though, management are probably hoping he gets the win in Canberra and claim that as a big scalp.

Mate, the Sheens love in seriously sucks the proverbial dogs balls. Sorry Possm. I can't cop Sheens one little bit.
If we're gonna be stuck with Mary, bring in Parish to assist and as a possible back up.
Not my first choice but not hearing anything else unfortunately.
I would rather we risked Daley than McGregor

A parramatta like revolution is needed. Club legends from both sides of the merger need to get together and figure out a way to sack the current board and replace doust with a Todd Greenberg type of CEO. What about the CEO of the wanderers?
They need an external CEO. Things will start happening then, everybody will be on notice.

Price was appointed based on Bennett's recommendation. Would you doubt the super coach who won you a Grandfinal who should take his spot? I am sure he had alot to do with the decision.

On Twitter someone mentioned that Sheen's was Dragons coach for 2014. Not sure who it was probably some wishful fan. Let these next 4 weeks pass and then we will know if Mary is good enough. His losses were to top 4 sides. If Mary stays I hope he brings in a couple of forwards who are not scared to get bruises.

A lot of us know Mary isnt good enough. Our losses my have been.against Top 4 sides, but that doesnt make them acceptable, its like saying our wins were against sides who were missing players or had boardroom problems.

As has been mentioned ad nauseum, the team showed a spike in enthusiasm after Price was sacked. The honeymoon period is over, and the exact problems that occurred under Price are popping back up - no line speed, no aggression, giving up easy metres, disjointed attack (I personally describe it as clunky), easy to read plays, poor player choices...little has changed, and given that Mary was pur attacking coa coach this year, I cant see it changing.

He has already proven that he isn't good enough. The wins we have had were expected ,we haven't the worst roster so you expect to have wins against substandard teams, even Storm were in a slump when we beat them.
But the last 3 weeks have proved that with all to play against quality teams we couldn't put together quality performances to beat a top side.Parra have ,Tigers have,Gold Coast almost beat the Roosters where we couldn't come close.

History is now repeating itself. Like Price, Mary is not the man and so should not be appointed as head coach.

At least Price had a decent success rate as a lower grade coach, served as assistant in a successful operation, and as an internal promotion you'd reasonably expect he'd be the best hope to maintain stable success. He was a fairly conservative choice and on paper not a bad one. It proved wrong of course.

Mary has none of that. He's not a conservative choice at all, he'd simply be a dumb choice.
