Haha! Perhaps back pay is a better word. It's only because I signed a contract for my promotion on the 1st of Nov, but a system f**k up kept me on my old pay until two weeks ago....I'm not eligible for the managers bonus' in my current role :(

Leaconfield Cabernet 09. Glad I only paid like $19 for it...not bad, but too soft and fruity for me. I'd expect a lot more structure and depth from a cabernet asking 30 odd dollars

It's definitely enjoyable, but I'd just expect more at the price they ask.

On a side note, have joined the Moss Wood mailing list so I can hopefully grab some 2009 cabernet on release. I usually find theirs to be close to the best of the Margaret cabs, along with Cullen, and with the vintage they had in 09 I don't wanna miss out!

I just like my Cabernets big and bold (and from Coonawarra preferably), so I get disappointed when they aren't that way. Not a huge fan of Margaret River Cab Sauv's either, since they still taste quite "green" to me.

I like a bit more elegance and structure, hence I love the Margarets. Not that I dislike Coonawarra by any measure, Brands and Wynns especially are amongst my favourites, but I personally love the Margaret structure and length. I'm a huge fan of the Moss Wood style as a result, and tbh the awesome 09 Amy's blend has my mouth watering over the quality of the Cab

I am still yet to get my hands on a Moss Wood Pinot. Will probably order a few when (or if) I put in the Cabernet order. I love Margaret shiraz too, and chardy obviously but I've recently been getting into WA rieslings, and loving them

I'm a big fan of Margaret River SSB's, find they have the right blend of acidity and summer fruits without that syrupy sugar after taste you can get from south eastern regions.

I'm not a huge SSB fan on the whole, but yeah Margaret do some very good ones. I am a massive semillon fan and I think the sav blanc ruins the semillon :p

Yeah, Hunter semillon is the best in the world, especially with about 5-7 years bottle age :p. I am looking forward to some 1996 Lovedale this summer actually, I found a few in my wine collection. I've also got a couple of 2001 Brokenwood ILR that are still looking a fantastic glowing green colour, to my surprise

The 1996 I have a feeling I accidentally pinched from my parents collection. When I was still at home I shared the cellar space with Dad, I must have collected them by osmosis. Not that I'm complaining!! I'm stunned at the colour of the ILR too, it deadset looks the same colour as the current vintage Brokenwood Semillon.

Actually, when the parents moved to Brissie Dad finally sorted his cellar out...found some Tahbilk reds, some Yarra Yering Dry Red, and some Hungerford Hill "Claret" from the 70's. We shared a bottle of the Tahbilk Cabernet and it was in stunning condition, it still had excellent fruit behind the aged characters. Really gave me a surpise, given the Tahbilks are still under 20 dollars!! I recommend it a lot these days

I do like the Tahbilks, shiraz + marsanne in particular. But since the rep for The Wine Co. is a dickhead (as I think we agreed on earlier Baz), I don't carry them any more.

Yeah they are douchebags. It may even be the same rep, mines a wanker. But Marsanne is in Coles DC, and the shiraz and cab are in my stores volune section, so we keep those. I was just shocked by the age worthiness of the cab at under 20 bucks
