Obviously Mannering is going to have to carry the defensive load for the side at 13, I don't even think we have any test standard back rowers left.

Manu Mau and Marty Taupau would be good, but we need Marty in the middle for go forward.

Odd reason, probably a lot more to the story than what we know.

Good on Taumalolo. Kidwell last year FAILED to pick the best team available and if you think he did, then you think just like him. During a test against the Roos last year, Kidwell benched Taumalolo for rather a lengthy spell. Taumalolo was regarded as the NRLs BEST player last year and normally does 70-80mins for the Cowboys. Kidwell left him off for 20!

Harris and Kahu dont want to play for a crap coach. They carried those niggles throughout the finals series but they aint going to do it for Kidwell. I wont start about the "difficulties" around Mannerings selection.

I told you guys last year, he has poor team selections and I said that before his Kiwis drew Scotland for the first time ever! Yes Scotland, yes continuous selection of butter fingers SKD, yes shocking.

I can't say good on him

So last year when the Warriors played the Dragons in Hamilton with the 6 guys not considered after the red bull thing, you would have supported all the other guys in the squad making themselves unavailable as well in support of their mates who had stuffed up ?

Or if Shaun Johnson refused to play under Kearney again because in a test match last year he started Kenny Bromwich at hooker and Tohu Harris in the centres ?

Or if Shaun didn't get the player he wanted beside him at 6 so pulled up stumps in protest ?

I know we won't meet in the middle on this lol, and Tonga will be rubbing their hands together at the news and I'm happy for them, but surely even these countries are better off having these guys playing for them because they are passionate about the country they are representing, not playing for them because they've picked up their bat and ball and decided to go home

Can't agree with Lolo's actions on this. He should never wear the Kiwis jersey again. Don't like Kidwell but the jersey is worth more than this.

Kidwell/management need to use this. A siege mentality us vs them to get the best out of the squad.

Back rowers we have left to work with....

Mannering
Tapine
Ma'u
Glenn
Fisher-Harris
K Bromwich
Taylor
Brown
Edwards
Liu
Taukeiaho

Kidwell was himself once involved in ousting a Kiwis coach clearly out of his depth. That worked out rather well, if I recall correctly..

Hopefully that's where this is coming from, rather than the Bromwich/Proctor bans.

Anyway, with Kidwell coaching and Taumalolo (and Harris) out, I think I might take a holiday around RLWC time... somewhere where I can't give in to temptation and watch the games. Likely wouldn't have to be a long one - because if this state of affairs continues we'll struggle to make it out of groups.

Forget this apparent neediness for a Kiwi head coach and ditch the "assistant" part of Garth Brennan's job title.

F**k the World Cup, regardless of which jersey lolo is wearing.

Apparently last week, JWH was informed by the selectors he was in the squad. A few days later he was told he was out

What an absolute shambles

Taumolollo probably wasn't a certainty with these selectors anyway

NZ League and the Warriors eh - pick your poison

It's Gary Kemble all over again!

I heard some horror stories about Kidwell during the mid - year test. He continued to go on about, " perception" and didn't have a robust game plan.

It'll be interesting to see if any other players choose to go with Island nations rather than NZ.

Seems that this may be the catalyst for a messy few days, rumour going around is that this happened to more than one player so more players are going to withdraw and we will struggle to put a team out

I hope this is untrue and the players realise what they are doing. Is fine that the players are upset if that is the case, but the damage that could be done to rugby league in this country is immeasurable

Rightly or wrongly, The Warriors are the showpiece for NZ league, and the public view of them has never been lower. The Kiwis having a good run could have help turn the flow a bit, but if this plays out as the rumours suggests, league is in serious, serious trouble in this country with nothing on the horizon Warriors wise to change the downward spiral

I spoke to my cousin tonight who is in the Kiwis camp. They said there is no player revoult and that Taumalolo wants to play for Tonga in the WC only. Just to give back to the Tongan RL. He said hes got no idea where the telecrap got the idea of a revoult cos Jess and Kevin wont be selected for the cocaine thing. Its just bullshit

I agreed but the old saying where there is smoke there is fire
