King Kenny gave sterling his start as well and should be given credit for his elevation to the starting 11 at such a young age.

Yep, thats why I said played him regularly and not gave him his break. He wanted to loan him to Swansea but we were running out of options.

Yeah, Sterling was kind of already embedded into the team by the time BR arrived.

Speaking of him, apparently some contract stipulation means he can't shit talk about Rodgers

Rodgers being back despite the result this morning. The only way he will be leaving is if he walks.

This is only reinforces the same old lesson about career life...'it's not about how good you are, it's about who you know and who you're mates with'.

Penalties against a league 2 side that sat their top scorer on the bench. It just gets better doesn't it. Thank god that game wasn't televised anywhere here.

When he goes can he take Gordon and Ayre with him please. Been 15 games since we've scored more than 1 goal in a match as well. So much for the attacking philosophy.

That league 2 side has also conceded more goals than any other team in England, and we still couldn't bang more than 1 in.

I got told Firmino was starting to own the game when he got hurt, and Ings was again head and shoulders above everyone.
Im getting on board and Ings/Sturridge line up. We can at least press with those 2, right?

Yeah I've read Ings showed plenty of energy and worked his socks off. You can see he wants to succeed for us and works hard at doing it. You have to pick him don't you. His form and play says he has to start and stay in the team.

Whilst Benteke is injured, Sturridge and Ings should start, and Origi should come on as a striker, not a winger.
Origi has kept Lukaku and Benteke out of the Belguim team before.

Ings and Sturridge would allow us a high press, it's just a shame Firmino got injured because he presses with a purpose, unlike Lallana and Milner who run around aimlessly.

He's also a bit like Costa. Looks at least 10 years older than he actually is. My hope in Ings massively lifted when I watched him score that goal against Adelaide. It's only Adelaide, but there was just something about it...

Onya Rodgers.

Pretty clear that Milner is not a midfielder. You feel bad bagging him thought because he gives his absolute all.

Lallana is talented, his problem his he spends way too much time dwelling on the ball with stupid unnecessary dribbling manoeuvres and nuances. I believe he'd thrive under a better manager.

At least we have decent striking depth this season. Our go-to guys last year were Balotelli and Lambert. Ouch.

Milner is a wide player, not a central player. I don't feel for him though, he is being paid a motza to run around aimlessly. He hasn't created any chances, isn't a deadball specialist and is worse on the corners than Aspas.
Is it his fault he is being paid that? No. But it is his fault when he goes out, loses the ball, makes shocking passes, gets yellow carded inside 2 minutes and contributes absolutely nothing to the team.

Lallana is not a Liverpool player. He can beat up on shit teams, but offers nothing against the Tottenhams and above. Absolute shocking waste of money as well.
I don't believe he would thrive under another manager, unless he was in a mid table team, not a team aspiring to win shit.

Last season our options were Balotelli, Borini, Lambert and Sterling.
Say what you want about Balotelli, but he is killing it back in Italy.

Under a game plan and formation that suits him. Not one that isolates him.

I'm not saying balotelli is a shit player but he was totally ineffective for us last season whatever the reason was, and seemed totally destined to flop. At least we now have a back up who looks capable of playing in Rodgers' "system", and I think he's superior to both Borini and lambert. Sterling doesn't know how to finish chances.

I guess I kinda feel different about Lallana. I think there's enough raw talent there to be worked with, but in saying that he should be entering his peak years so you have a point there..

If he is, I think their mind's already made up anyway. Giving him merely more game to drastically change their mind is illogical. He knows what's going on too. Ever since this story broke he's skipped two press conferences. That's quite out of 'character'.

I think pressure is definitely building on BR but I just don't see an immediate change being made. Just can't see Gordon keeping him on, changing his back room staff and letting him invest another shitload of cash to then give him the ass 6 games in. I'd love to be wrong tho as we truly are getting worse with every minute we play.

On Lallana, he was such a waste of a buy IMO, we paid way over the odds for him particularly given the manager has no real plan on how to use him effectively. He's a number 10 for mine and we have better already in that position.

Worried about the villa game as well as we seem to transform them into the second coming of Guardiolas barca sides these days. Could get ugly if we continue with this horseshit 3 at back with skrtel as our main man. Can some one explain to me how he got an extended contract?

I'd personally play

Lucas Can Milner

Coutinho Sturridge Ings

looks too good to happen so it won't happen.

I also agree with you re: the 6 game arse Jack. There is no way they sit through an off season review, sack his staff and give him 80million if they are going to punt him.
The Anco and Klopp rumours are nice, the latest Klopp rumour is brilliant, but unless Rodgers walks, he will be here for a few more months.
