Just when things couldn't get any worse...

Liverpool's season appears to have gone from bad to worse as Dirk Kuyt suffered a serious ankle injury that could rule him out for the rest of the year in Netherlands' 4-1 Euro qualifying win over Sweden.

In a further blow for Roy Hodgson, defender Daniel Agger had to come off in the first half of Denmark's clash with Cyprus, throwing his comeback from a groin problem in doubt ahead of the weekend's crucial Merseyside derby against Everton.

Dutch forward Kuyt was taken to hospital in an ambulance after landing awkwardly following an aerial challenge in the first half. Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk said he feared the injury was "serious" and that initial predictions forecasted a long time on the sidelines for Kuyt.

Kuyt's absence will test Liverpool's attacking depth as the club, currently languishing in the relegation zone, awaits a High Court judgment regarding its ownership.

i don't understand how the board can force hicks and gillett to sell their shares?

There is a board of five directors. They have by law to do whats best for Red Holdings (the company that owns Liverpool FC). The board voted 3-2 that the best thing was to sell up as they owe the RBS money that needs paying today (They currently can't afford it).

Hicks and Gillet are saying they have undervalued the club so have an injunction against the sale. If they win then they don't have to sell, and Henry will have to up his bid. If they lose then the board retain the right to sell.

If its not resolved the RBS can put Liverpool into Administration thus docking the club 9 points. Theis is something they are unwilling to do as the banks are not the most favorite people anyway and the RBS is one bank that was bailed out in the crisis.

Interestingly the NESV people are a hedge fund and it was there dealings among others which started the crisis. Therefore they are among the people responsible for government cuts effecting liverpool a lot at the mo.

He said to them media to judge him on what he's achieved in 10 matches, so he's got 2 matches to turn it around. I still reckon we should of gone for Pellegrini or O'Neil to manage the club. I don't think Kenny Dalgish should because he's been out of the game too long and I would fear the same thing that happened to Keagan when he came back to Newcastle happenind to Dalgish, maybe I'm too negative.

At least the dead wood are making themselves obvious.
The ones we knew were over rated still are and its too early still on a few new boys.
Made my mind up on Maxi too.
Has talent but doesnt get into the games.
Took about half an hour to get a real touch and he was already booked before that.
Skrtel isnt better than Agger/Something brewing there and Carra is too slow to be a wing fullback.Put him back in the middle.
Playing like a team with no confidence. It'll change.

yeah, much better. Three points off 7th, it's really pretty close. A couple more wins and we can breath a little more easily.

A second consecutive win, against Bolton. Nice to see Torres has scored in both matches as well. It's amazing how much a win or two and a goal can kick-start the confidence and lead to much greater things. Granted, Rovers and Bolton are hardly world-beaters, but Liverpool FC is a much more optimistic place now than it was a month ago.

We still need a huge injection of funds. This squad remains among the least exciting in recent memory.

Oh and Torres didn't score the other day, he set up Maxi with a clever back heel.

4 on the trot, and an excellent 2-sh*t win over Chelski. Amazing what confidence on the field and stability off it can do for a club
