The day I deferred uni was it for me. And now that I want to go back he's trying to talk me out of it.

my dad does pretty similar things, disagrees with everything that wasn't his idea, even things that were his idea a couple of months ago. My dad also wants to shelter us a lot but can be pretty inconsistent about it. And this has led to some of his children acting in ways that really frustrate him

I've stop trying to impress my parents now and make them proud of me, I just don't care anymore. They can think what they want but I'm my own person in the end. They won't agree with all my decisions and so be it.

Parents are odd things at times, I don't think kids will never understand their parents, until they become parent's themselves. (Which I probably can't).

My mum never interfered or tried to make me do anything I didn't want to in terms of jobs, study etc when i was growing up.

As long as I wasn't getting into trouble anymore and help her out with $$ she was happy I think.

Probably would have been good to finish high school and go onto uni but no point dwelling on that now
