Your clubs best sponsor?

Parra won all of their premierships when sponsored by James Hardie. It's not very PC to be seen to have ever been associated with JH these days though...

Asics threw a lot of $$$ at Parra in the mid 90's when they were cellar dwellers.

Pirtek are contributing some serious coinage as well if I'm not mistaken.

In all honesty I don't know what Woodgers did, I was only 7 at the time.
Woodgers was a real estate agent. I think their first sponsorship was for about $50K a season (or maybe that was the 1989 figure - can't remember).

Easily my favorite jersey.

if only Andrew McFadden was playing then :lol:
I think the McFadden business was actually owned by Andy McFadden's old man, or uncle - there was definitely some connection. At least we got something out of the deal I guess...you still see one or two of those jerseys floating around.

My favourite NRL sponsorship moment was the referees were sponsored by FAI right up until the collapse of HIH. In fact the week of the collapse they covered their logo because the cheque bounced iirc.

As far as the Knights go, I have fondest memories of our Stockland days (1995-1997 inclusive). Not only were they on our jerseys the years we began creating waves in the comp, but were there for the 1997 Grand Final. The logo itself was also simple an unobtrusive on the jersey. I've never been a fan of sponsors logos as a block on front and back of jerseys. I think that's why I also like seeing the Henny Penny jerseys, and Coal & Allied jerseys. There were various designs for the Impulse Airlines logo during their days before Flight Centre took over and was present for our 2001 Grand Final victory. I don't mind that jersey. BP would be my favourite 'block' logo though. NBN is my favourite sleeve sponsor.

Knights sponsors (major)
* Henny Penny (1988-1990)
* BP (1991-1993)
* Stockland (1995-1997)
* Impulse Airlines (1998-late2001)
* Flight Centre (late 2001)
* QANTAS Link (2002-2004)
* Coal & Allied (mid 2005 - present)

SLEEVE SPONSORS
* BP (1990)
* McDonalds (Hunter Region) (1991-1993)
* NBN (1994-2003)
* NIB (2004-present)

Hostplus because their ads show the Storm boys, Slater talking with King and Inglis in the background and Bellamy talking to the team in the sheds

when he took over at city ford, it wasn't called city ford -i forget what it was called, wright motors i think- he renamed it to city ford, became one of the largest ford dearlership in the country, became a major sponsor of the roosters and ended up as chairman, where do you think all our money came from? why do you think everyone hates us?

my god you are annoying

Do you have any idea how to read a post? It's not the first time you completely misinterpreted something.

It's as simple as this:

Visit http://www.cityford.com.au/

Tell me what the slogan is on the top line.

Once you've done that, you'll realise all I said was the slogan line...

CITY FORD SAYS YES MORE OFTEN.

Think about what you're reading next time you try getting your panties in a twist.

You are right Timmmmmmmah, it is not accurate.
In 1999 Brisbane had 131 shop as a sponsor.
They didnt even see out the yr.
Ergon came on board and have been the longest sponsor of the club

Mitsubishi Electric has been supporting the dogs for some time now.
I think we all should support the sponsors that put their money into our game. Next time you make a purchase think about NRL sponsors like Telstra, Carlton beers, Bundy rum, AAMI,Toyota etc.

Telstra... pffftt.

Optus was there when the game needed them. Telstra were trying to destroy it - and even now push AFL way more than us.

I dont see any "my dad played for Wests Tigers" ads on TV.....
