Good points Suity.

I think we/the club need to rid ourselves of these ridiculous new policies first - gates open to all areas, repeated ticket checking etc. The place is a farce compared to last year, communication about these policies (eg discount) is a shambles.

After the new policies have been ditched then it will become clear where money might need to be spent on improvements - it might simply be on making the catering contractors put on more staff, or better management of the outlets we have? But if more is required, as the major/only tenant, the club should be able to identify these to the trust, in the way a tenant can bargain to a landlord come rent increase time.

Couldn't agree more with all you have said.
We know we have an outlet for these issues.
I'm planning on using it at the next home game.
The director in question is always willing to chat and listen to our concerns. Listening is one thing though. I think it has come to a point where acting is paramount.

Best of luck through whichever director you are referring to Suity. personally I'm not a big fan of placing hope in individual club Directors past or present about issues of this nature, but every avenue helps.

The outlet I'll prefer to keep using is simply typing stuff on here - and hoping someone in the media (eg Hadley?) picks it up, if our club doesn't choose to do anything about Member concerns...

Personally I don't trust the current directors any more than I trusted the previous.

One thing however I forgot to mention, is a big plus for the new admin.

One major suggestion that came from the past few years was making better use of the (crappy) big screen before games.
Today was a great surprise. I was thrilled to see Timana interviewing Steve Ella, with highlights of Ella's career being shown on the screen.
I thought the presentation was excellent, the interview great, and it was a great use of pre-match time. Great exposure also to those youngens who never had the privilidge to see Ella play.
The part Burt video afterwards was also sensational.

So, with brickbats comes congratulations.
Great stuff for showing this stuff today Eels.
Please, keep it coming.

If you live your life and trust that these forums will get you your dreams, well, they will still be, just dreams.
I think I'll PM you re this.

So to summarize.

Good Points.
1 Suity could get a beer quickly.

Bad Points.
Repeated showing of ticket.
Stooping of Steps.
Concourse people can access Bob O'Reilly Lounge
Ticket ushers not doing there job, as in showing people where their seats were, this happened all day up until the 20th minute of the game, they will stand in the aisle or at the base of the stairs (in the way of those I sit with) and look blankly up the stairs trying to find their seats, some of them were season ticket holders.

If they are going to get people to do this, get 3 security guards at the Stairs, and then have ushers showing people to their seats. you know doing their job.

I have another suggestion. CLOSE THE GATES!!!!.

Bugger this bullsh*t that it is for safety. We have had this stadium now for 24 years, never have we needed for safety to have those gates open. The only time I remember them ever being opened was at a Parra Power game when it pissed rain and they let the punters who were all sitting in the concourse sit in the Grandstand.

Seriously CLOSE THE GATES.

While I am sure that negotiations with the Stadium trust would ensue after speaking with a member of the Board, I am reckon they have seen this coming a long way off.

Also I love the conspiracy theories that this is all Denis' doing. In case you people forget, Denis was out voted on the Ray Price Statue, and since 2006 the Stadium trust has not been under Denis' or Ovo's control.

Just further on today.

I was keen to look further into this subject today.
I was told when I bought tickets at the eastern ticket sales office at 12.45 that I couldn't get two seats together in the Cronin Stand. That was the first crock of sh*t today as there were plenty of seats available upon later inspection. In fact, rows of them.
Secondly, and this is my fault due to my own ignorance, but I couldn't get my 15% discount on tickets for being a member, because the discount doesn't apply to purchases on match day. I wonder how many other people know or don't know that?

Thirdly, the bar service was unsurprisingly atrocious. 3 people in a confined space serving one person at a time. It was Laural and Hardy stuff.

This leads me onto the ticket checking procedures.
I was in the eastern concourse, and I was freely able to walk into the Cronin Stand catering areas. I was able to walk into the O'Reilly bar (I think it's called) and buy beers, while I looked at the unsuspecting people in the eastern concourse (where I was actually sitting) and the shockingly long queue to get a beer. I bought my beers quickly, and headed back past those people to my seat.
What's going to happen to the bar in the Cronin stand when people in the eastern concourse realise they can walk into the O'Reilly bar and buy their beers?
And why should people who pay a premium to sit in the Cronin Stand have to put up with further delays in catering in their own area because it has been opened up to more areas.

The stadium is suffering from menopause, and it is high time that they realised that a little expenditure will ease many problems.

Suity
yep - been that way for as long as I've had a season ticket - the discount is only for pre-purchased tickets ... infact I mentioned that's the case just a few weeks ago in the good old "you're all a pack of whingers" thread when someone said how much of an advantage it is to get discounts for ppl who paid for the BB packs - must have got overlooked

It is a good thing. Much more entertaining that continuous kids footy, sadly.

However I think this improved use of the screen started some time ago with the Parra TV concept? Where they would show excerpts of behind the scenes interview and then suggest people log on and subscribe.

Either way, it's a good result for fans.

I hardly live my life through forums, in fact I find I'm spending less time here than previous years. (Partly life changes, partly that I can't access during the day.)

And they are not "dreams", just opinions and criticisms that I hope the club will act on. Personally I feel the club is more likely to act, if criticisms are publicly viewable, than if they are privately made (in writing to the club or in whisper to one of 7 directors). But as I said, good luck with that avenue. PM read and replied, thanks.

Agree - the screen is pathetic. I was a bit far and am really dirty I didn't get a better look at the Steve Ella interview. Credit to the club for putting this type of thing on though.

One other minor issue - fair enough showing the players membership numbers on the screen, but does the announcer have to read out each one??? It is pretty silly really.

Just on the announcer. Mark Warren (son of Rabbits) is a great improvement on the many previous pelicans. Hey, doesn't he sound just like his Dad ?

Yeah pretty lame just to plug membership to the remaining 100 people who purchased other tickets :)

Yes I do, but no one had mentioned it.
It was a request that had been made by some people in the past, and it is good to see it has been acted upon.

Yes, it is a welcome addition to the match day experience.

Certainly better than ad after ad on our screen.

Ben Smith was pretty sharp behind the mic I thought.

So what happened to the new big screen that was being provided by the electric billboard company (announced a month ago) ? Was it installed at the club or is it planned to replace the old Rank Arena at the northern end ?
