just out of interest, anyone know how many NRL teams own their playing venue?

The Sharks maybe as it is attached to the club, and they own the land on the other side of the creek as well ?

SFS is owned by SCG Trust.
ANZ is owned by ANZ Stadium Australia Managment
Parramatta Stadium by the Stadium Trust.
Canberra Stadium by the Institute for Sport
Brookvale and Campbelltown by The respective Councils
Dairy Farmer, Suncorp and Skilled are Owned by Events Queensland.
I don't know who owns Olympic Park or Mt Smart but I do know it is not the clubs.
I am quite sure Kograh is Council owned as is WIN. Energy Australia is owned by the NSW goverment but managed by the Knights.

Mark you have way too much time on your hands mate, but you cannot work out what the reward would be??? Any business can be successful if it is not being bent over, and success comes with more hard work. Mark have'nt you noticed a change in the joint??

Funnily enough, the Stadium made a profit and was successful enough to spend its own profits upgrading the changing rooms in 2006. Who was in charge of it then?

Stadiums like ANZ only make a profit because they have a large number of constantly paid up members. The Same is true of the SCG Trust. So if you can Make a Bomb out of a Stadium, without that, I am sure people would love for you to step up and show them they way. Why don't you get yourself appointed to the Stadium trust?

I think it's pretty clear there'd be significant advantages for us running the stadium, but it could also have the potential to be another liability.

I'd like to think that if we ran the stadium, we'd be able to get more use out of it.

The small bar under the edge of the stand at one end of the North Terrace was reduced to one bloke serving yesterday during the game. about 12 minutes from 5 people to get served.
Although the main bar under the big screen was moving well during the game.

Unless you're talking about the A-League venture (of which we'd be one of 3 or 4 stadiums competing for it), it's pretty hard to see where a future prospective tenant would come from.

Otherwise, without another tenant, you'd just be relying on ad-hoc events each year such as the Supercoss.

If we're also running it, would we then move games away to ANZ? There's potential for a conflict there as well.

Like I said, it could be good and I can see the obvious advantages. There are also potential downsides.

Who was in charge Mark....oh thats right Denis was, and the upgradings were done for the soccer as they were blowing up. Mark you are a very intelligent young bloke, but your bias is really starting to bore me, as you talk about people putting their hands up to do things, and you sit on here anonymously putting the slipper into anything and everything. You are a very different bloke on here than when we speak in person, and yes me getting myself appointed to the board Mark, oh yes I am sure Denis would work with me on every issue.

Yep, that's what I was talking about. More use in the off season for things like that and concerts, etc....

Fair enough, that could prove to be a bit risky though with lots of variances from one year to another. At the same time, depending on the nature of events, it could also be a winner.

Ideally, you'd want the certainty provided by locking in another tenant.

The A-League franchise would be ideal as it would provide for a continual 12 month use of the stadium.

Food & drink line moved pretty reasonably for me yesterday, but yes that glass door from the terrace to the stand needs to be shut, or they need to at a bare minimum provide somewhere to put stuff you are carrying down so stand people can get their card out more easily to show it.

Actually no, Denis has never been in charge of the Stadium.

The Upgrades were done for the Eels, and the venue was compared with Suncorp for the upgrades, I was asked to help provide some proof on that one. 2006 the Eels were the only Tenant and the Power had ceased playing.

Sevens can take all the personal pot shots at me you want. Seriously I am big enough to take them, Literally, but you speak to me of bias is the biggest joke I have seen from you lips (or figures) in 6 months.

If you were appointed maybe Denis wouldn't be, wouldn't you rather replace him? Oh right he is some kind of Uber bloke that holds reign over everyone and everything and can never be toppled! Oh wait . . .

and another minor thing.... Why can't they throw open all the gates after the game so that we can exit freely? There are bottlenecks at certain gates whilst the other half of the gate is shut???

Very odd.
