What those advocating afl style expansion don't want u to know

There was a time back in 2015 where Australia were the champions in Asia at international and club level. But things started to go pear shape following the late Rebecca Wilson article where it named and shamed fans, who happened to be on FFA's banned list at the time. Fans were unhappy with the...

Then I don’t know how they are going to get 7 NRL games there.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

So the 18th NRL team is going to Tasmania? Perth Red won’t be happy about this. Alas, maybe what the NRL could do is stage a magic round down there.

    2023-2028 next tv deal discussion

If Fox want the NRL, they will find a way to pay more, such as an increase in Kayo fees, otherwise you can say goodbye to subscribers in NSW and Qld.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

I like your last paragraph. The NRL should be on the phone or in Perth personally to broker the deal with WA govt.

A few years ago, Rupert did say, " we've always preferred Aussie Rules". And the News Ltd CEO backed him up. My theory is, once the AFL has enough subscriptions in NSW and Qld, then Fox would ditch the NRL. IMO, that's where Fox is working towards. For many years, Fox wanted every sport. But...

What i like to see with end of season internationals is to bring back the 4 nations. Below the 4 nations, have a second tier of 4 countries and have promotion/relegation. A team that comes last in the 4 nations gets relegated, and the team coming first in the second tier, gets promoted.

But it would be nice to see the break up of the Nine/ Fox duopoly. Both have held the rights for decades and have taken the game for granted. If someone new comes along and gets the rights, either fully or FTA, then it will benefit the game in future deals. Fox and Nine will realise that they...

    2023-2028 next tv deal discussion

At the very least what we can all do is come up with ideas on this site, and here's hoping that someone from within the NRL would be reading it.

Most likely what will happen is for the NRL to have a full time FTA Saturday game. You could end up with 4 FTA games a week. But the code will expand to 9 games a week. Perhaps a possible return of Monday night football. The thing that annoys me is that the communications minister was concerned...

    WA BEARS

That's fair enough. You would still have seven Sydney teams. In my initial post with those mergers, there would've been eight. But that was the Super League War where merging was one mechanism of reducing teams. IMO, i dislike mergers, takeovers or relocations. I wish that the Illawarra had a...

In what way? Those mergers make more sense than St.George and Illawarra joining up.

Interesting thoughts and ideas. An extra team and round. If Fox and Nine weren't interested or got outbid, then you would hope that a network gets the rights to that 22 game package you referred to, rather than another streaming provider. You don't want to give fans another bill to pay. Have a...

Looking back during and after the Super League War, what should've happened: *Parramatta and Balmain merge *Canterbury and Wests merge *Norths or Manly relocate to Central Coast *Norths or Manly stay in Sydney and represent the whole of north sydney which includes the lower north shore and...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

https://www.infrastructure.nsw.gov.au/projects-nsw/penrith-stadium-redevelopment/ The redevelopment of Penrith Stadium will transform the arena into a major event venue, boosting the visitor economy infrastructure. It will not only continue to cater for NRL matches, but also host events that...

So when are we going to find out that a new Penrith stadium is going to be built or not build?

To you and to @forby , if the Paceway is not the site for the new stadium and there's limitations on the current site, what other piece of land should the Panthers go to for a new venue?

All i can say is, just wait and see if Weidler is accurate with his reporting. And if he is hearing the right whispers, then we see the plans for the stadium.
