    Pom retiring?

With Gal playing prop and Bakuya a kiwi we have a gap in our famed back row - at the right price you do a lot worse than Pom as depth - and as he is Gal's man crush we keep the big guys best mate in the house.

    Joel Moon

Not sure if this is old news or not SALFORD, who have two quality players in line for next season, are set to lose Aussie centre Joel Moon. Moon, 24, is set to join Cronulla Sharks. Getting him off the wage bill will allow the Reds to bring in Matty Blythe from Warrington Wolves and Michael...

Trent Barrett doesn't want the captaincy

Helen Gal said a number of times that he wanted Bird back in the team. Do you expect him to stand on a box and shout that Bird was innocent - just in case he was? If not how would you have wanted him to stick up for Bird when neither Bird or the Girlfriend would speak to the police, the club...

    Atelea Vea

Gallen has been playing like a prop for ages, he is busting his a**e every week just trying to get the halves some space to work in. He constantly looks stuffed and we are now missing his offloads and any hope of a passing game because he is so focussed on gaining some yards to get some go...

    More bad news...Reni Maitua

He's goooooooone - what beats me is right now he's in court fighting unfair dismissal then is found with drugs in him - a dismissable offence with a long ban for his sake lets hope he can prove someone spiked his drink

    More bad news...Reni Maitua

In the TELE CRONULLA forward Reni Maitua has tested positive to a recreational drug and is poised to be stood down by the NRL. In another black eye for the code, the former Kangaroos lock tested positive to the substance, believed to be cocaine or ecstasy, during a routine Australian Sports...

Sharks send SOS to fickle fans

I mentioned this ages ago - our marketing department is crap - the Shire should be covered in black white and blue posters Marketing costs but it can be offset by barter - ie you print us posters we get you the mother of all adverts on the big screen with 25000 viewers free of charge etc etc...

    Annual Report

Its not hidden - its in our faces - in a set of accounts produced properly by a decent firm They don't need to pay it yet and may not need to pay all of it for years I don't boast about it but sometimes being an accountant can help - it is usually the ultimate contraceptive but well....

    Annual Report

In the accounts there is a $813k tax item noted and all and sundry especially the papers have made a big deal out of this. Fact ....they have no effing idea what they are talking about.......... these are called deferred taxes for a reason - they have been deferred because thats how the ATO...

    Ideas thread

As BS lists is ain't that difficult to come with ideas to use the ground - however people must know it is being used - i say again no marketing done yet on the dragons game - why not - obvious - the gurus on the management team think it will sell out anyway so why bother??? This arrogance runs...

    Financial position according to SMH

Sadly the club or footy team needs to sell some of the property to generate cash because neither the leagues club or footy team are capable of getting enough cash through their books in the short term to pacify bankers. As we all know this has to be last resort which is about where we are. ST...

    Financial position according to SMH

Lets have a closer look at the accounts: (assuming footy club is the only subsidiary of note) The $8m drop in cash was spent on the Southern Stand so that disapearing is no shock $35m in property being $22m leagues club , $13m shark park - we spent $9m on the ground last year - is this...

    I have questions.

All reports today suggest the NRL will not approve our scheme, the CC don't want us and the Bears will put every obstacle in our way to suit their agenda. So it looks like the plan will not get off the ground - so if not what do we do? Do we give up on this idea and go looking for other easy...

    Sharks Approve Central Coast Move

All our comments are made to support the long term survival of the Sharks - however regardless of property development - playing at CC or Dubbo or Adelaide etc etc - unless something changes in 5 years will still have the same problem - No-one in the Shire turning up to watch league at Shark...

The so-called "Development" that didn't save us

BS - the whole seperate company thing is a veil for risk management - not business management - unless the Sharks get a real property guy heading up the show the Leagues club will run it as major shareholder It will therefore go wrong

The so-called "Development" that didn't save us

KotH is right The world is littered with failed property developers who used to do something else. The club should enter into a profit sharing agreement with a successful, well funded developer and accept that returns wil be less but risks even lower. When all is done the leagues club needs...

The so-called "Development" that didn't save us

Its about marketing - 250,000 live in the Shire - we only need 5% (Zappia) if you don't read the back of the Leader (most people only read Domain) and don't go past Seymour Shaw (IF the trailer is out) you won't know if a game is on. On match day I wear team shirts to my kids soccer - I am...

The so-called "Development" that didn't save us

This is the thin edge of the wedge that kills the Sharks. Reefy is right - the Shire needs to support its team - no other people do - they ALL want us gone - we must fight to keep the team. Start now - get all Sharkies to buy all the tickets for the Dragons game - if we don't there will be...

    Cronulla Sharks facing financial oblivion

The 2009 memberships should have been posted about three months ago - think 1,000 at $200 each is $200k in the bank - offer incentives to get 5,000 and we could be sat on a million bucks now. The club needs to get more commercial by doing what other companies do when they see a cash issue coming up.
