    Time to Flick the Storm

I know it is a fantastic hobby for Sydney to bag Melbourne and vice versa, but the constant crap about booting the Storm has got to stop!! Traditional bases and the like have to be looked after I agree, but you don't have to do that at the expense of a developing market. The Melbourne...

Boohoo AFL - Take note Bob Carr

I think you guys are finding it a little easy to jump full stick into Victorians about sectarianism etc. I doubt you lot would be too happy if the ABC had of decided to deliver it's national sport report from a Melbourne view point, probably about as happy as the majority of Melburnians will...

    Which club junior are you?

Played with mighty Ingleburn RSL, which is a Western Suburbs junior club, when I lived in NSW. Up in Brisbane I played for Souths Acacia I think they were called for about half a season. I refuse to say I am a Broncos junior though!!

    Your ultimate Grand Final match!!

Eels v Bulldogs - nothing else would compare Eels v Broncos - though this would come close Realistically though my dream GF is anyon that Parra wins

Which team will imrpove the most in 04

The Eels will be the improvers of 04!! With the full strength team on the park they are hard to beat, will win more than they lose. Will be there when the big matches are being played this year.

    A sunny day in 1975.

Not quite as eloquent as teh initial story that began this thread, however I will have a crack at recounting my most memorable match. 1987 at Parramatta Stadium, with the Eels dreams of back to back premierships becoming fainter by the week, Peter Sterling produced probably one of the best...

    TV coverage in Melbourne?

Without Foxtel, Rugby League is basically non-existant on TV. The one key example I remember is of the decising game of the 99 State of Origin series where a 60 minute highlight package was shown. This highlight package ofcourse did not include the try that drew the match. Channel 9 do a...

    BEST HALFBACK EVER

Peter Sterling was the best ever. Being my favourite player as I was growing up I think it will be hard for anybody else to compete. That said all the half backs mentioned Johns, Stuart, Langer, Mortimer etc are all fantastic and in reality it is hard to separate them. The one string...

Why do you support the team that you do.

Nothing overwhelmingly exciting about my story. When I was younger I grew up in the western suburbs and all my friends were Parramatta supporters so I too was a Parramatta supporter. It was a bit hard not to be when you consider the players in the team at the time Sterling, Kenny, Cronin...

    Concessions..Juniors and Loyalty.

The key reason for the salary cap is to try and limit the payment of players to an amount that the industry as a whole can afford. What blinds the issue is that certain clubs can afford to pay more for players meaning that the salaries for players get overinflated in relation to what the...

    Goodbye Bellamy

Bellamy was a great choice by the storm to coach the club. It would be horrible if the club yet again lost coach/player etc for the simple reason that they wanted to go home. The Storm can survive and thrive in Melbourne, something like this just sets the cause back another couple of years.

Great Work Sidhe & HES - Plenty Of Stock Out There Now!!

Yes it was fantastic!!! I have been waiting since it was released and finally, yesterday I got my greedy little hands on my very own copy of the NRL game!!! My love of the game only increased when in the season opener, after drawing at the end of regular time a Jamie Lyon 80m run sealed a...

Memo Gus Gould from Parramatta - Go to hell!!!!

I agree that for a succesful club it appears unfair that the system is designed to bring them back to the pack. However it must be considered... The most financially succesful clubs cannot be able to purchase the best players available without a restraint system in place. The...

    favourite/least favourite player

Favourite Player: Cannot go past Nathan Hindmarsh, he is the best forward going around Jamie Lyon would have to be a close run second though Least favourite player: Crouch Player most want to poach: Darren Lockyer would just be sensational in the Blue & Gold
