And the ref cannot blow the whistle before the siren finishes, which by the time it had finished it had made it into the dummy half's hands and nearly been passed.
You need to allow for human reaction time and for the ability of people on the field to be able to hear the whistle over the siren, thus they wait until it finishes sounding. Kinda like basketball where the play is live until the siren ends, rush a shot during the siren and it is still given.

Back from the game. Can't believe Gonzo and other numbnuts are arguing about the Fox clock. Irrelevant!
However, as a Storm supporter, I reckon I heard the siren a split second before the PTB - at the ground I was amazed it wasn't blown as full time. Have just seen the footage on tv - reckon it is clearly audible just before the winger puts the ball on the ground to play the ball - so think Dragons got robbed on that one.
BUT - Cronk's pass to Proctor that was claled forward and a try disallowed looked good at the game - and thought we were unlucky with the Dugan offside try too.
Having said all that, thought Dragons worked hard and were the better team. Widdop looks more of a leader than he did with us. Extremely unlucky loss.
Billy is running on old legs (trademark Anthony Mundine), Hoffy's hands are horrible and I think we'll lose as many as we win this year.
