18th club, whose next?

My mistake, I only looked at the jnr club of those that actually debuted in the nrl for the sharks. And some of the others dont have their jnr club listed, like Stonestreet.
in this article. Dunno why they haven’t put it in, and Dykes debuted for the club

Mate that isn't true about Cronulla juniors in the top 30. Honestly Its easy to see that you are spinning things but please do not make up shit without due checking.
Cronulla juniors in their top 30:

Connor Tracey - De La C'bah
Kade Dykes - De La C'bah
Samuel Stonestreet - De La C'bah
Siteni Taukomo - Gymea
Blayke Brailey - Aquina Colts
Josh Finau - Engadine (development)

And there are a few around at other clubs too, off the top of my head:
Flanagan and Pele - Dogs
Salmon and Peachy - Panthers
Townsend - Cowboys
Brailey- Knights
You are arguing with a miserable thick head. Wasting your time I’m afraid.

Perth Red yet again showing that spite misery and living in Perth without an NRL team turns you into a smart ass who has no idea about anything.

Perth Pelican doesn't get it.

Kids want to be like their local heroes and aspire to be like them and play for the club their heroes play for. These kids then play the game and become supporters and sponsors. Some will be good enough to play first grade and beyond.

Try telling the kid that it doesn't matter who you play for. True, not every player will play for their junior club but that's the true pathway of players and fans.
Lol, yeh kids want to be like their heroes at their nrl club, they dont give a sht where that heroe played under 8’s! I’ve never heard a kid say they don’t like star player X because he isnt a local jnr lol.

It’s shame the team pages don’t have who the player played u18/19’s for. Some of the clubs the pages are not very complete making any analysis tricky.

Once again the simplest of things go over your head. You're one of these wanks who think they're an expert on everything but struggle to put their pants on without falling over.

historic Pasifika team - with tentacles reaching Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and Papua New Guinea - is now a serious option to be the NRL’s 18th team. The franchise would have a permanent base in Cairns in far north Queensland and be aided by the Australian government, which is prepared to tip in $20-25 million annually in the interests of national security in the Pacific.
NRL forces will stop 🛑 China

That’s not what’s happening. Look at the nrl debut numbers I’ve posted. Clubs are generally in the 45-60% range of home grown. No one is developing all their own squad and No one is buying whole squads from other clubs.

panthers have 18 players in their first team squad that debuted for panthers.
There are many more Penrith juniors running around in the NRL, it’s like Penrith and the Tigers develop players for all the other clubs in the competition.
Manly get a lot of their players from Blacktown, Blacktown is in the Penrith junior competition despite being Manlys NSW Cup side.

And that’s the just the vagaries of how Sydney jnr football regions have been divided up historically. Seeing as the panthers nrl club isn’t contributing much to the Blacktown region whats it matter? indeed if we are going to punish clubs who have smaller jnr regions by having cap dispensations for “home grown” then those boundaries should be redrawn anyway to create some level of equality,

I just dread to think where we'd be now, if our Pommy mate had come out with the first fleet.
We'd probably all be booing Santa Claus , organise protests at every development being proposed, have warm beer ,whinge at every minor thing and generally bore the tits of our fellow Australians. And make us all sing Up there Cazaly as the national anthem.
The word positive would not be part of our language.
When we are dealing with rugby league there is constructive criticism and destructive criticism.Maybe one day he'll get it.

This is how you do expansion to ensure the clubs successful on and off the field! Tassie AFL club 19 will get:

$700mill New stadium - Fed, State and Sport funded
$60mill CofE - State and sport funded
$12mill a year from state for 12 years
$33million to establish elite pathways sport funded
$93million to grow grassroots participation sport funded

We could only dream of having enough money and influence to be able to expand the NRl in that way!

So you are saying unless Perth nrl get a new 750 million stadium built for them and 12 million pa in govt support and a coe they shouldn’t get a team

don’t backtrack now

When I told Perth red their proposed nrl team needs a new stadium he said they didn’t and a refurb of hbf park was ok and a coe

now he’s using the afl getting a brand new stadium as the way to do expansion properly

Literally his double standards between league and afl are hilarious

Geez your hard work! Of course Id love it if the NRl had the clout to deliver a new perth rectangular stadium as well as all the other stuff Tassie will get. But it is highly unlikely it does, so we will have to put up with second best, such is rugba league.

AFL has played this a blinder. Got the govt's to build a new stadium, got the state to pay a big chunk of the start up costs of a new club, chipped in with significant funding of its own to ensure the game grows alongside the new club and to show the partner investors it is serious about making it successful.

I wonder if the NRL has any clue what it wants or what it should demand for a new club in a new area? I wonder if they've actually laid out a plan and expectations with the WA Govt? AFL went public to put the pressure on to get what it saw as necessary to make it work, NRL doesn't even know where team 18 should be.
